robertsjf
I shelled out $100 last week to get the forgeworld Avatar of Khaine for my Eldar Army. It was like the model simply needed to come home. Forgeworld stuff makes my wallet cry out in pain, esp those little extra bits you can attach to the bog standard plastic model to make it special and unique. What a horrible, barbed hook.... Erion
Yeah, but the FW stuff is so very very nice. With The Dark Angels coming out this week I have the feeling I'm going to be getting terminator shoulder pads for $4 a pop, because the new plastic sprue only has three (and there are five terminators per squad). Nanite
Yeah, WraithGuard are horribly overpriced. That is my only gripe though, no quick, cheap, internet sales. Plus, specialist games as mailorder only is teh sux.
Erion
Well, the warstore does 20% off, but you have to either e-mail or phone in your order. Still, that would only bring my Wraithguard down to $12 a model, and frankly the $10 I paid however many moons ago was too high for those models. Sergeant_Crunch
When I was in South Korea I did a mail order through the Warstore for GW product. Got the catalog of product codes via PDF in email with the order form. I was very pleased with the service, even having to deal with military postal service the minis got to me fairly quickly. Lars Porsenna
www.warweb.com also sells GW stuff, plus a lot of other stuff Neil does not carry (TheWarStore's selection of historicals is rather thin, though he does have a decent price on Foundry's the few there are, and I've bought all my Perry's stuff from him). It appears WarWeb sells at 20% off, and the GW internet Enforcement Wretches haven't shown up at their door yet. PLus I've used them for years and always get good service. Now if I can only get 15mm fantasy Essex from them...need to finish my halfling HotT army! Damon.
TriOpticon
Another good source for GW is: http://www.dropzoneonline.ecrater.com/ This one looks to be my main store in the future if initial orders go well. 25% off current GW, (but not limited releases), and lesser discounts for stuff only available from GW's site. Phone or email orders like the warstore. I'm a Tyranid man, myself. Just starting to paint all my genestealers and the MaCragge (or however it is spelled) set. SaintRigger
The tyranid batallion box is actually a really good deal. You get like $120-140 worth of stuff for $90 (less if you get it discounted) I was toying with a Big Bug list with all 'fexes and Tyrants. I generally don't go near GW unless I can pick it up in trade or get a good discount though. I might break down and buy some of the new Empire plastics once the flagellants are released for project and conversion bits.
Erion
Actually, most of the battalion boxes are really good deals. Generally you save $30-60 by buying the battleforce. If you get any further discount, i's just a bonus. The only one that's not really a great deal is the Necrons which is only like $12 cheaper. The new one for Ravenwing is crazy. Both the Attack Bike and Landspeeder are basically free at full retail. $55 of free stuff. The new Dark Angels basic Battleforce is just as good, though I'd have gladly given up the Rhino and Scouts for 5 Terminators in that kit. CyberShadow
Has anyone seen the Forgewold Chaos Ogryn preview? It will be the second Chaos figure that I like (along with the Forgeworld Chaos troopers), which is really unsettling. I mean, in the past, I could almost always ignore anything Chaos from GW, because I just didn't like it, now the world is upside down I tells ya! That would be because the next FW book will be Chaos undivided.... followed by one for each of the four major powers. (I need more Epic Tau first!) I would love it if came back from the development hell of specialist games. Along with a new Imperator Titan of course.
Lars Porsenna
Yes, and the started could include plastic IG and plastic Eldar... That'd be coool... Damon.
CyberShadow
Ummm. We have plastic IG and Eldar (in EA). What I want, is some of those FW Daemon Engine concepts realised in 6mm! The half effort made on EA Chaos is depressing, particularly for some of us 'core' fans of the game.
