Erion
Well, that should about do it for me buying much of anything from GW after June.
smokingwreckage
If you want guys in greatcoats with gasmasks, may I suggest Pig Iron "Kolony Militia"? They're very, very nice figures, crisp with chunky detail, and they look great on the table. I bought some recently and was very pleased. I'll second that Pig Iron's Kolony Militia are very nicely detailed and are a lot cheaper than buying GW's minis.

Oh and check this out, those cool looking little ammo grots that have been floating around the con circit? $17! http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...otCatGameStyle=
smokingwreckage
In addition, Pig Iron's not-really-a-base integrated base glues straight onto GW circular bases. I use JBWeld with a little Loctite superglue to hold them til it cures.
Sharky
Still no plastic greatcoat guard, so whatever is in the Cadian or Catachan troops boxes has little actual impact on me. Maybe I'll just buy bits from The War Store, order the FW Traitor guard weapon arms, and use some "not-GW" heads. Bet it will be cheaper... Wargames Factory has greatcoat not-Guardsmen running on their Liberty and Union League - they have already got a couple early concept CAD sculpts up. Hopefully this will come to fruition, like their lovely zombie sprues did. Obviously, I have no problem using other manufacturers in my 40K armies - I recently discovered that AT-43 walkers make great Deff Dreads and Killa Kans, and a good portion of my Witch Hunter force has Reaper Crusader minis in it. Lars Porsenna
I priced out my traitor guard project. Here's what it comes out to be: Cadian Legs (Warstore): $6.49 Cadian torsos (Warstore): $5.99 RENEGADE MILITIA WEAPON ARMS (Forgeworld): $14.19 Fallen Legionnaire Heads (Maxmini): $6.24 Total Cost per squad: $32.91 Total cost per figure: $3.29 Not too bad... Nanite
Nifty! Please share picks when you have some assembled! These, right? http://www.wargamesfactory.com/BookingRetrieve.aspx?ID=42195
Sharky
Yep, those - but they've said that those are very early concepts, so there's hope yet.
Erion
Planetstrike is looking sort of interesting, though. Interesting enough that I inventoried all of my unpainted Tau last night. For the record, I have a lot of unpainted Tau.
SaintRigger
I adore the lads from WF - but honestly, their models have been really poor. Even their celts are pretty rough and on the small side. The detail isn't very crisp (their feet look like they are melting into the ground) etc. I'd not put much faith in their greatcoat infantry. I do like the Pig Iron figures quite a bit though, and being able to order just heads and backpacks is fantastic for converting your guard. I just put together and painted a Valkyrie last week, and honestly - this is an amazing kit. Every sci-fi force needs them as dropships. I see myself building quite a few more. They also have door guns and gunners, sliding door and a rear hatch that drops, and it wasn't a nightmare to put together (just remember to use white glue on the canopy bits or else it will fog up from the CA fumes) I'm rather excited about the new tank kits too. Since I've gotten over my fear of my airbrush, I've been painting armor like a fiend.
Erion
I can only hope that the Inquisition updates (whenever they may come) allow inquisitorial stormtroopers to ride in Valkyries, because it's a REALLY nice kit. And my brother has a professional-grade airbrush kit (he's a Graphic Designer) so whenever I need a bunch of tanks/vehicles basecoated, I just buy him dinner. One thing I discovered is that a) GW paints thin with rubbing alcohol and b) I had to thin them so much the paint was more like a transparent dye. If only I didn't need all my rhinos and LR in snot green.... Next time I'm using actual modelling paints. THOSE I understand in an airbrush... Damon. I've been using the GW paint thinned with the airbrush medium I have. I'm going to try windex some time soon. I did overthin one color, it was unfortunate - I do like the ability to slowly build up color. I'd like to try a 90mm figure some time with the brush
Erion
As a Price increase preview, 10 Plastic Empire greatswords for WFB, which will come out just after the price increase, will be $41.25. I shudder to think what other horrors are in store.
