Gus Landt
My jaw dropped when I saw this! I have no idea who the seller is, but it just doesn't seem right to me... Sophie auction Check out his completed auctions and see a sophie that went to $49 with 9 bids!
pae
It's not me. The 20 extras I bought are all spoken for, and with the exception of 3, have been mailed to the people who asked for them. I'll actually lose money on this (not that I care), since I didn't charge anyone sales tax for them. I suspect the person selling these got them online while the Con was running. cutebutpsycho
Okay, I bought 4-not me. 1 is for Bob Ridolfi, I'm painting it for him to say thanks for cool sculpts, 2 are for me to paint (1 with wings, 1 without) and the 4th stays in the blister until I have a good reason to do something with it. Just like last year's. Maybe someday I'll spring to have one of the pros paint it for me, maybe someday I'll be good enough to paint it that well, either way, they're for me. I too would bet they were bought online. If he sells all 10 he has listed at $40, that's $400.....

Hmm....the item's location says "Item location: Best BBQ in the World!!, United States" So I'm thinking its probably someone from near Memphis, TN? Reaperbryan
Considering how many we sold as internet sales over the 3 days fo ReaperCon, It's very likely one of those.

It wasn't myself nor Ana... the only Tennesseans at ReaperCon. We didn't buy any Sophies, only the one that came in our "goodie bag" that we got for going to the Con. I think even more curious is if any of the um... anatomically correct Sophies have landed on E-bay.. uh.. I'm not going to look for fear of finding out. Orchid_Noir
Can't even wait for the corpse to cool. No respect for a departed friend. 'Tis not I said the fly, we only came home with three of the lasses.
Dragon Snack
What do you expect when it's a limited edition? Whoever this is took a "risk" that people would be willing to pay a lot for a "rare" figure. Reaper made their money when they sold it origionally. If someone is willing to drop $40 on this because they didn't buy it when it was available in the online store, more power to whoever it was that bought 12+ of them (no, it's not me, I have no idea who it was, and I only have 1 of Miss Bourbon St). Shakandara
Besides, we all know the best BBQ is right here in TX. So not only is he cashing in on the Sophies, he's delusional about BBQ. For the record, I bought 4, in addition to my packet one. Two for vutpakdi, one for Necco, and one for a certain someone that I can't reveal at this time. Somehow, in all of that, I forgot to buy a 2nd one to save away for myself after I get the one painted. Doh! ~v P.S. And I agree... if he was willing to lay out the cash and take the risk, then the profit is his to gain. Go free market economy, go!
neshenti
I almost pity the guy who shelled out $40-ish for a Sophie online since he: a) missed out on one of the most enjoyable gathering of gamers and artists ever b) didn't have at least one friend who, while attending the gathering, thought of enough of him to grab one (or two, or four) Con treasures to bring back and share Thankfully there are those who couldn't make it this time around who have such friends. Everyone else is forced to skulk around eBay. -Neshenti

Didn't mean to imply that you guys were the culprit. It's just that every person I've met that had lived in Memphis bragged about how Memphis BBQ was the best! Gus Landt
b) didn't have at least one friend who, while attending the gathering, thought of enough of him to grab one (or two, or four) Con treasures to bring back and share Everyone else is forced to skulk around eBay. Anyone who buys it now on eBay could have just as easily bought it for $10 online from Reaper during the con. There was no need for a friend to bring one home to anyone. They were for sale on the Reaper website to everyone during the Con. Anyone who shells out $40-$50 for one now almost deserves to get ripped off, since 2 weeks ago they could have bought 4-5 Sophies for that price! pae
Thank you Flynn! As you might have guessed, I still haven't mailed yours off yet. I'm a bad friend. Seriously, I'll probably end up sending the Sophies separately from the Casketworks you requested, and I hope to get both in the mail on Monday.
