skya
Some more shots on the Hyrekia I did up for ReaperCon. She's eventually coming off that base and ending up drawing out the magig circle for a much larger three figure witch's coven diorama, but for now she sits happily on my shelf mocking me to get the other two figures done. drjsallison
I Soooooooooooo never cared for this mini and its been up dozens of times. When I saw this in the case at RCon, I fell in LOVE with it It is so amazing how a fabulous paint job can completely change ones outlook on a mini. This was one of the ones I picked as a winner. In my book- its a BIG winner.
paleskin
The circle being "scribed" with the staff/wand is the icing on the cake!
Vicky
Nice work! I like how you tied the colors together with yellow highlights on her dress!

Lord Robert of Worcester
did you sculpt the stone she is scribing on. I tried making stone from green stuff but. is lonly look lumpy.
Moderator TaleSpinner Posted May 26, 2006 Moderator Share Posted May 26, 2006 I too have never liked this mini, until now. She's perfect. I love your color choices on the dress and your blonde hair is spot on. The circle on the stone is not only great looking, but it adds movement and dynamics to a piece that I always thought of as very rigid. Now she looks more like she is in super concentration mode with her spell casting. Great job. I can't wait to see the rest of the three. Zinzig
What they said...excellent work. Love the lighting affect...like her staff is sparking as it's dragged along. Had to add this to my reference pic file.
Vikinglodge
That is really cool, I love your idea of the staff and the base brilliant.

The base is one of the Groundforge Dark-War Slate bases. Wyrd-games.net has them. I tried sculpting my own up too and it looked aweful so I covered it in "snow flocking" painted it brown and used it as sand dune base for the cav plane I did. Stubbdog
Just looks awesome. I especially like the fair skin tones matched with the hair.
Lawgiver
base is solid. Color choices are good, though there is almsot too much contrast on the high/low spots on the clothing. Blending is top notch in the transition though. Hair is great. Staff rocks. The circle being "scribed" with the staff/wand is the icing on the cake! Agreed. It sells the entire miniature. Sergeant_Crunch
funny how many times you see this one, each new time you see it, it just gets better. See, now I'm going to have to buy one and paint it using unthinned craft paints just to prove you wrong! Seriously though, beautiful piece. I'm so glad I wasn't a judge for the contest, I wouldn't have been able to make up my mind.
