Warlord Dwarf Starter Army

All,

 

Here is the Drawf army starter box from Warlord I painted for a friend. He wanted them red instead of blue. Let me know what you think. (Hopefully the photo quality will allow you to provide feedback!)

love the bases, nice stoney look to those, great work

 

 

the reds & yellow is a great color scheme for these guys as well.

 

King G is top notch as well, love the gold striping on the axe, the is awesome

 

hope your freind appreciates the work involved on these

Well done! I like the reds, really works well with the dwarves. King looks quite nice and the basing while simple is perfect for them! Gonna have to stea...errr...borrow that idea...any chance you want to share how you did it? :devil: Also snapping up those pics for my file of reference material.

Thanks for the kind words. My buddy hasn't seen them yet, but I think he'll be happy with the results. The bases were done by applying a liberal coating of Liquitex White Opaque Flakes Texture Gel. Once it was dry, I painted it black, then applied two dry brush coats of a dark grey followed by a light grey. Finally, I did a very light dry brushing of white. I was going to add some vegitation of somesort (static grass) but thought that would look odd.
