Qwyksilver
My Reven had a less than stellar showing Saturday. Round one had me lose in a fairly close battle against Ken's Reven army. No one really wins these fights. It was a fairly even fight. I just wish I could have gotten my offensive spells cast before time was called. Round two was a slaughter at the hands of Tony. One HUGE glaring tactical error. Thinking staying behind some stone walls would protect me from Non-Corporeal models Round three went a little closer to the way I wanted, taking down the Nefsokar. That was a pretty even fight on two lines of combat, but my reserve troop of Hunters and Zerkers crushed one line, and the Zerkers actually lived through Defensive Strikes. But I still climbed the rankings even if it was a wee bit.
Ravenwolf
This is my tournament report for the 1501 point Wizard's Tower tournament as part of Storminator's Grand Prix. We had 6 players with good lists. We had all met each other before on the field of battle at one time or another and it was an awesome time. This is what I brought to do battle: Troop 1: Moandain (IP, 8 Bindsouls) Convulsive Fear Fear Life Transfer x2 Lightning Bolt Dispel 5 Skeletal Archers 5 Skeletal Warriors Troop 2: Azarphan (GMA) 9 Wraith Harvesters Troop 3: Sir Gadrun (GMA) 2 Deathriders Troop 4: Aysa (GF, GME, IP, 6 Bindsouls) Troop 5: Banshee Troop 6: Banshee Totem of Battle 1500 points This is a typical 1501 list for me except this time I maxxed out the amount of Bindsouls I could bring. Normally I take a few just because they're cheap, but I wanted to consistently have many Minions on the board. It worked. Round 1: vs. DanQvest (Crusaders) I faced off against my buddy Dan. I helped him design his list so I knew what his plan was (basically multiple Speed spells for Damon and Gerard). He still managed to surprise me though (Halbarad packed a Cure!). He's fought against my Crypt Legion a number of times and was not happy about drawing me in the first round. We played on a city board with roads (which only really helped him since most of my army is Non-Corporeal). On Turn 1(!) he charged Damon (with Speed) into my cavalry force hoping to take 2 of them out and perhaps the third next turn. His dice failed him and Damon missed everyone. On my activation, I swarmed Damon with Wraiths and took him down and CDG'd him with Azarphan. I sent Aysa's GF into the center of the board and started making Minions. My archers took shots at Skirmishers when they could (avoiding Knights). In the end, the center was packed with Models and corpses and I had killed more than he. Great game, Dan. Win (1-0). Round 2: vs. Qwyksilver (Grand Reven) Mike and I always seem to meet at tournaments so it only fitting that we continue tradition. He brought a Grand Reven list without cavalry, lots of Models (notables being Kiakara, Gaaguk, Lunk, Gurm and Braug). We battled on the city board and after his Ranger move and first activation, Gurm was in the center begging to be shot. I missed and he later charged into my Skeleton Warriors (screening my archers). He was a tough bugger to kill, but he eventually went down. Mike's troops were in the center before mine (except Minions), but I was making the choke points on the roads. What probably cost Mike the game was hiding Lunk behind a stone wall and not remembering my Cavalry was Non-Corporeal. I charged them through all the buildings and that wall to pin Lunk without a spell being cast. He fell the following Turn. His Berzerkers were almost completely ineffective against my Wraiths. Kiakara got swarmed by Minions, but cast a Cure on herself. Meanwhile he charged his Lesser Orcs into my Skellies and his BO's into the remaining Wraiths. When time was called I had defeated more points for the victory. Had not Lunk been squashed so early it may have been a different outcome. Great game, Mike. Win (2-0). Round 3: vs. Darthiir (Elves) Tavis and I have met on the battlefield before and this time he had tweaked his list to beat my Crypt Legion. He went with an all melee Elf army with Mossbeard and an Eagle (for taking out Aysa). On Turn 1 he had the Eagle flying over Aysa's head ready to drop on her in the next Turn. I missed with all my archers and Moandain failed a Convulsive Fear spell on the Eagle. I brought both of my Banshees back to try and deal with it and finally scored a hit. I kept moving Aysa's GF forward (making Minions) while keeping the rest of my troops advancing slowly. My cavalry ran into one of his Meridh Troops and warriors and got killed. On the next Turn, I got the first activation and shot the Eagle down. Aysa ran into the woods (just in case), but it failed it's Tough check. I kept advancing and he kept retreating. With little to no Ranged attacks coming from his army it was only a matter of time before my forces overwhelmed his. Lysette tried to take out a Banshee and a Wraith with a Fireball, but the Banshee was outside the AOE. In the end, his army was almost in a corner with mine bearing down on it. Great game, Tavis. Win (3-0). Props to Storminator and the Tower for hosting the tournament and to my opponents. Great games. Slops to Moandain for spending 50 points on a Lightning Bolt that he never cast the entire tournament. I never had the opportunity and I'm inclined to leave it off the list and purchase more units instead. Winning this tournament put me on the top of Storminator's Grand Prix. Who's coming to the next tournament to try and take me down?

One question. Why are there two troops of adepts in the list? I thought Skeletal Archers and Deathriders are both adepts. Is there a house rule not limiting players to 1 troop of adepts when the game is below 2000 points? Anthony
Qwyksilver
You can field as many Adepts of different Data cards as you like. You cannot field an Adept of a single Data Card/Model type in more than one troop until you get to 2000 points, then that Model can be fielded in 2 troops, 3000 = 3 troops, etc, etc. You could not field Skeletal Archers in two different troops unless it was a 2000 point build. If he had 4 troops each with a different Adept: Deathriders, Skeletal Archers, Crimson Knights, Crypt Bats, that's legal.

By all means do make the trip, but don't be surprised when you're the one getting pwned We met at GenCon, but I haven't had the pleasure of battling you, yet. Get ElementsWarden and Shadowmage to come down too. Very cool list. I would love to see some of the opponents lists, too. Thank you. I'm constantly tweaking it to try and improve it. I can't recall the exact lists of my opponents. I could provide a fairly, but not completely accurate lists. Perhaps, they can post their lists if they feel so inclined.
