Sergeant_Crunch
Looks like Paramount is going to do an animated Dragonlance movie. Not much info, but here's a couple links to stories. http://www.gamingreport.com/article.php?sid=21507 http://www.gamingreport.com/article.php?sid=21543 Nothing on Paramount's site that I could find and most of my Google searches didn't turn up much more that was reliable. No official site yet that I can tell. Lucy Lawless will be performing the voice of Goldmoon. Apparently she leaked the project before she was supposed to. Her announcement is currently the top item on the front page of her fan club site.

ElectricBoogaloo
So by animated do they mean cartoon or CGI?
haldir
agree with everyone on the whole DON"T SCREW THIS ONE UP thing + I hope they can get actors/actresses that will fit the roles also hopefully the animation will good as well, not shoddy like some fantasy animation has been in the past (probably be cgi but you never know) RM
Ranzadule
Jackson has to do Elric first! I was never a big Dragonlance guy...Drizz't FTW! I'll still rent it when it goes direct to video though...

I don't know if it would go direct to video though. You would think with a big book following like Dragonlance that it would give it a try in the Theatre's first. Ranzadule
D&D > Dragonlance and we have not forgotten the debacle that was the Dungeons and Dragons movie. Sword and Sorcery movies died with the effort to make them all PG13 and the editing out of the gratuitous nudity and bloody violence. Some film makers would prefer to have teenie boppers attend their movies rather than old pervs like me. I still fondly remember Tonya Roberts in the Beastmaster... Decado
This great news. The Dragonlance trilogy is my all time favorite fantasy trilogy. Hopefully it is done well. Decado
Sergeant_Crunch
more info Judging from the concept artist's portfolio on their web page it'll have a bit of an anime-ish flavor to the art. No sneak peaks available yet.
ixminis
I took a look at the animators website and am a little bit spooked at the quality of their 2d animation quality. I hope it improves... or that the samples aren't representative of the quality. Of course, I'm travelling, so maybe it's my monitor? http://www.toonzanimationindia.com/toonz.htm rgds,
Kengar
Never was a big DL follower, but I'd still like to see a decent D&D movie (animated or otherwise). I agree with Michael, the animation studio's work seems awfully "cartoony." for a good sword & sorcery movie, but we'll see. And -as far as I'm concerned- Peter Jackson isn't allowed to do ANY fantasy movie until the Hobbit is finally made!
