Thought I would share these with you guys...

The first in an Aspect of Hextor repaint from WoTC "D&D Miniatures" line of pre-painted plastic minis. For those who don't know these guys are made out of the standard flimsy vinyl most CMG minis are made of and are painted in china by either machines or peasants depending on who you chose to believe. I'm a big fan of the skirmish game (number 38 in the world rankings) and I occasionally like to repaint some of the few decent sculpts that come out. Here is an Aspect of Hextor, Greyhawk's god of Tyranny...

The next bunch of pics is what I have so far painted of my Ogre army for WHFB. I really like the GW ogre plastics but havn't been able to look at them since painting this crew up over the winter.

I like the Hextor. The green tone makes him look nicely orcish. The eyes really make him look like he is stoned. BTW if you convert weapons a lot, toothpick swords make good replacement blades for floppy weapons.

The ogre with the double mace needs to have his photo brightened up but is great none the less.

The ghost faces are really good. Your work with the ogre faces are good, but the cartoony nature of GW sculpts can hinder the figs.

Iron guts are really cool, especially the 3rd one.

Nice job on the vynal hextor, Never had much luck touching up slick plastic, you have done it very well.
Cut off soft weapons, drill holes for replacements, dry fit replacemnts, remove mold lines{a pain since the rubber wants to "feather"], scrub with dish soap, dry, glue new weapons that are not flacid, prime and paint.

Toothpick swords work real well.

Great, now I have to go out and buy more minis, and I don't even like orcs, but these look awsome and soon they shall be mine to paint, oh yes, they shall be mineeeee...

On a less disturbing note, they look very cool. I love the colors. The purple people eater looks exactly like he eats people very nice, the skin color is awsome. The ghost faces are very cool, the white just makes them that much scarier, also the purple war paint is a nice touch as well. The iron guts are great as well, especially #3, looks like a big executioner lumbering out to knock soemones block off. Very well done

love the colors on the ogres (pretty cool looking ogres too, first time I've seen those)

also nice repaint on the AoH as well, I'm in the process or repainting the treant & formian giant. Someday I'll get back to them, someday....

Make sure you post the formian, I want to do mine up too but have no idea where to begin so any help would be sweetness indeed. Just started painting up the new Mountain Troll & the old Aspect of Bane.

not to take this one off topic on yah, but I would love to have the frost giant on the mammoth, dang that is nice looking mini.

REAPER NEEDS TO MAKE A MAMMOTH!!!! ha ha

ok back on topic (or at least a response)

yah I think what killin me is I want the colors & picture to look like the shot in the WOTC monster book (can't recall right now which one he's in, MM2 I think), the hairs is what I'm really wanting to do, just don't know how I'm gonna do it, + the colors is kinda throwin me as well, thinkin of maybe shading with a light grey maybe for his shadows, heck I don't know, hell i don't even know where that particular mini is really (it's somewhere in my hobby room from hell so to speak right now)

gotta add to my comments on your ogres, I love that one with the purple shield/buckle with the teeth, I love the tat-handprint on his chest + the sculpt just lends to the way he is painted, great work on that one, I think he's my favorite one of the bunch.

btw how big are these guys anyways? like I said never have seen this particular ogres, so use to the old 80s style ogres GW has.
