St. Louis seems to be Warlord deficient..

Recommended Posts

Hello, I registered at reaper games and within 50 miles of me there were only 5 players registered. I've never heard of any Warlord events in the STL area, but all our local stores stock (and you'd think they sell) Warlord minis.

Does anyone know if we have a Black Lightning person in the area? You'd think that with 2.7 million people within 50 miles I'd be able to find someone to play Warlord with ::):

If there isn't a demo person in the area that's a shame, I may have to throw my hat in the ring. Of course I don't have time to do that and have only played one game of Warlord in my entire life, but someone needs to do it.

Ah, a nice little tool.. Thanks for the link. The closest to me is actually on the Illinois side of the river (about 30 miles away). For some reason though, the people in Illinois seem to game more than the people in Missouri. In Missouri (St. Louis area) we have one chain of game stores with about 4 total shops and in Illinois they have 4 or 5 different independently owned stores. They get more variety that way.

Anyways, I am surprised that there isn't someone representing the Missouri side.

I'm actually trying to set up Warlord games online for just this reason. Until we get the appropriate "miniatures", it's not happening. If you'd like to help, the topic is probably still on the first page. Or you could always swing by Florida and we'll have a game or two. Good luck finding people! :D

5 players and a BL member within 50 miles? You are doing well compared to what the situation was here in Houston just a few short months ago. We had 3 players (and only that many becaused I practically forced my opponent to register), and no BL members within 50 miles. Now we have 10 players and 2 BL's, with a 3rd person considering BL as well.

If you feel that you can contribute and help drive the game, then by all means, become a BL. Spark the hobby in your area. With a cooperative store owner, you can build things quickly and see an increase in players in a short amount of time.

I feel your pain. I had to drive 90 miles to find a demo, and it seems no one at my 2 FLGS's is into Warlord but me. Of course, I'm deep in the heart of GW country (US hdqtrs about 1/2 hour away). Bleah.

*Sniff.* It's just me here too. The great city of Las Vegas, and there's only three registered players. Me, a friend (who's moving), and an inactive member. Same for CAV. I try to build support as a Black Lightning rep, but I don't find a lot of love here in Sin City.

I think I am going to talk to the Reaper folks at Gencon about possibly becoming a black lightning person. It might be worth doing just to get some more people interested and to give me an excuse to game more often.

Lawgiver - I've never been, I just got into gaming in the last year or so, I'll do some research and see if I can find anyone else who has went or who is going. There is also Diecon which I've heard is ok, but nothing great.

No need to wait. Start reading about it now. Plan out some demos and get ready to start roping people in!

Which is strange, because there's nothing else to do in Las vegas...

@mrbuddylee: We are still in discussions at this point, but if we can finalize the venue we're going to be hosting a friday night/all day saturday "mini convention" here in Murray, KY about 3.5 hrs from you in late Sept. I'm trying to get everything finalized by the 1st to make an official announcement.
