mooseyjoe
I love the sound of that ability. It's just that it might be overpowered. +2 is a lot. maybe only a plus one for everything besides defensive strikes?
Stubbdog
over powered compared to bane? compared to feathery sky? compared to pain cage? Heck I'd lke to take it a step further and ay +2 to DV and +1 to MD til the next activation if I am giving up an action to do it...
Outkast Samurai
over powered compared to bane? compared to feathery sky? compared to pain cage? Heck I'd lke to take it a step further and ay +2 to DV and +1 to MD til the next activation if I am giving up an action to do it... Jason has pin pointed it. Compared to others our faction SA is rather under powered. That's kind of why its good to do a little playtesting with some ideas. I'm starting with the lower powered ideas without giving up actions. I have no doubt that before its all said and done I'll be trying the +2 DV +1 MD till next activation with giving up an activation.
mooseyjoe
I only say it might be too much because we already have a very viable faction. I could see it as a problem if we constantly lost to dwarves because bane just rocked so hard, but the dwarves are thoroughly beatable. The same holds true for elves. I can't speak for darkspawn as I don't get to battle them too often. Jade thorns definately isn't as cool as some of the other abilities, but I would hate to see it become broken in the other direction. It's not that I don't want the mother of all faction abilities, I just don't want to listen to the whining when we become too strong. Shakandara
Meh, I have to listen to the whining now that my Reptus are too strong. That's why I've switched to beating people up with other factions lately; it helps remind them that it isn't just my scaley guys that do well. In the long term, I have faith that these issues will be addressed, one way or another. Now if we could just get another really cool solo model - something that actually fits in more as part of the lizard/dragon aspect of the faction - that would be awesome... ~v
Hellsgate
Perhapse if you think +2 DV at the cost of a move action is too strough, then maybe +1DV per move action dropped till next activation. Then we'd have three options of run in and attack, stand and fight or to just hold them/wait for them to come to us.
mooseyjoe
THERE ARE NEW REPTUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you go to reapergames and look at the data cards you wil find a whole pile of new datacards that fit the new style. Several of these are new reptus. We get flying warriors, a flying sergeant, a hydra, a nagendra mage warlord, and maybe other stuff that I missed in my excitement. time to go salivate some more. Hopefully this new style of cards will be as fun as all those play testers say it is. Edit: glibbberdy goo bab ba dee dum. I'm excited. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
mooseyjoe
Ok, more excitement. The hydra is on a super base. If I'm not mistaken that means we get to plop down a cd sized terror on the gaming table. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee grr
Emmel Eitch
glibbberdy goo bab ba dee dum. I'm excited. Ok, I'm turning in my official reaper fanboy card. I think ReaperBryan still has your card, if you want it back now. You'll probably need to buy him some wings though... In all seriousness though, I'm glad you're excited about the new models. mooseyjoe
Well, I'm still not happy, I mean reserving judgement, on a new redo of all the stats. Most of the folks in my group are not overjoyed either, but assuming the new changes are as great as you say they are, I'll do my best to win them over. But none of that can dampen the excitement of new reptus models. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. But your probably right, I might need to be getting that card back. chesme
The only thing so far that strikes me as sad is River Trolls are now adepts and not solos. *sigh* We only get one initiative for a whole troop of trolls AND they have to move together. Foo. But, that's just my initial reaction. I need to see how it all fits into place with everything else... otherwise, I'm overjoyed on new Reptuses. EDIT: Of course, the first thing I view is the data cards and didn't see the SA Outrider description. SO, my only sadness is now retracted. Thank you for your time. Shakandara
Just wait til you get the chance to lay down some wood with those new troll as a troop. I got to make all kinds of troops crumple under their Warmastered MAV 6 swings in the beta testing rounds. Someone in another thread asked how to deal with the new dwarven shieldmaidens... Trolls are the answer, my friends. :) ~v

I mean we pay well, and while it's true you can't eat the slaves we're willing to overlook a few "unnecessary casualties" if you know what I mean.... Qwyksilver
River Troll have SA: Outrider, which means you can still field them as a Solo. You just have to pay an additional cost (15 points) per Model, to field it as a Solo.
