Legends Games Posted October 24, 2006 Share Posted October 24, 2006 Now that got a little more than my starter box to work with, I'm looking at sticking Azarphan with Naomi and the Crimson Knights, and Kentaur over the Skeletal Breakers. I've not gotten the faction book yet, but I'll have it and Kentaur tomorrow. Now if I can just improve as a painter. As a new player I'd likely work on a Default list (including Vampires) first, and then if You like the Crypt Legion you can begin to expand on those models more and more. Default allows you to field everything, so it is the list probably best suited to a new player while they figure out what they do and don't like. Crypt legion has alot of merits, but many the Vampires are fun to use. I'd pick up the Deluxe Necropolis set (if you don't already have the book) if you are looking to go default. You know it had to be impressive when guys are waiting for you to show up so they can tell you about it. Jack is an incredible player at whatever game he takes on, and he has been chewing us all up lately with a very balanced 1000 pt. elf army. Bishop normally plays Lupines, but he made up an undead army to take Jack on. From what I heard about it, this is what happened. The undead got the initiative, so Bishop's archers walked out and pegged three elf archers right off the bat. Soon after that Judas got swarmed by elf warriors. Judas did get knocked down, but made his tough check and started feeding on the elf bodies around him. By the time he was done with the warriors, Judas was back up to full health. Judas and Nivar then took on the rest of the elf army and destroyed them. The rest of Bishop's army apparently didn't even need to be there..... I just got a win against Darthiir and his elves in similar manner. Moandain was rushed, killed and cdg'd over two turns by an elf captain. But I rolled a 10 to make my dark energy roll, and a necromantic surge later, Moandain was feeling fine. I had the advantage of hot dice more than once - I also dropped the elf eagle with three 10's out of six shots. But I'll take a win against Darthiir any way I can get it. I'm just wondering how people stack their armies to use Aysa. Not 1000 points, 1501 points. Moandain (w/ LME) = 9, 4xRailor = 12, Aysa (w/ LME) = 5. I suppose you might be able to do it at 1000 points with Azarphan 0, 4xRailor (w/ GME) = 20, Aysa (w/ GME) = 6, but I think the army would be too flimsy with all that otherwise useless equipment. Qwyksilver Posted December 15, 2006 Share Posted December 15, 2006 Undying Host uses any Bindsouls that have been broken and unused (Friend or Foe) prior to the casting of the spell. Aysa can carry hers, Moandain his, Railor there's, etc. Turn 1: 4 Railors carrying their bunch all break there Bindsouls. Aysa casts Undying Host for the boost. Turn 2: Moandain breaks his Bindsouls. Aysa again casts Undying Host for the boost. Turn 3: Aysa breaks her Bindsouls. Aysa casts Undying Host for the boost. I just can't wait to see a Crypt Legion vs Crypt Legion battle where everyone is stealing each other's Bind Souls. No, it's one of the first of the repackaging of grunts and adepts as singletons. The "new" harvester is just the "most popular" sculpt from the original package of 3 wraiths. A few questions, I am having trouble finding information on vampiric feeding (Judas and the other vampires gaining DTs back I asume). I currently have a few models and am planning on purchesing the Deluxe Starter just as soon as I am done playing Santa Claus for my kids. I am new to fantasy mini games, been mostly playing CAV, CBT, and Mechwarrior AOD. I have grown very fond of Reaper and figure I should give this game a try. The baby is sleeping so I am not going to clatter around for the book in the dark. Essentially perform a Loot action on a Stunned Model or Corpse and a Vampire can heal a DT of damage.
