Shadowhunter
Let us know how it goes! Oh, and this is just personal preference but I'd lose a bandage off of Logrim to give Freya Divine Favor.
spiritual_exorcist
Agreed, get that Divine Favor in there no matter what the cost.
Unholy_Hamster
In my experience against Darkspawn (both games ), archers without warriors are a light snack for the spawn. Just a few warriors along with Gargram do wonders to protect your piercers.
wildbill
Alas, my current Darkspawn opponent was not able to make it last night. His fiance had a honey-do list for him, I guess. However, I did get three new guys to start playing (Necro, Overlords, & Darkspawn). Come on Reaper peeps!! I need more bear troops!! I did play against the new Necro player last night. All he had was the 750 point box set, so I played a one-troop 750 point army as well. Logan + Divine Favor + Greater Magic Armor 5 Piercers 5 Shieldmaidens + Musician Ivar + 1 Cure + 3 Bandage He had Judas, Malick, and 10 Warriors. In addition to the equipment on the box, because of the v1.2 points changes, he was able to add a Standard Bearer, Musician, and Improved Protection to Malick to his army list. We had a lot of terrain on the board, and he came from playing GW games, so he knew about strategy and stuff. But...it was obvious he didn't have "Necro dice" yet. He rolled gawd awful, while I rolled like a gawd. I felt bad about kicking his butt so hard, but his friends were enjoying it. They said they would be back this next week. I hope so!! wildbill
I don't really have much of anything exciting to say about the Dwarves. I just wanted the 200th reply honors. Actually, the quicker they release my faction book the quicker I can get to kicking some Darkspawn booty! Wild Bill

Humansquish
What does everybody have against the Darkspawn? You'd think we were the epitomy of all evil or something. I can't wait to see all the lovely models. Hopefully I will have miney by then to buy them. I'm also interested in seeing the new sublists. Besides the Berserkers and Shieldmaidens, what other sublists do you guys think they might come up with? Would an all bear riders list be feasable? wildbill
As much as I would LOVE to see an all bear riders list, I don't think it would be feasible. My guess is that would be uber-expensive point wise. Look at the Crusader heavy cav. What are they, 65ish points each? Field too many of those puppies and you'll get swarmed by any decent opponent in a hurry. However, if you are playing it just for kicks, and don't care about winning, then yeah, seeing a horde of bearing smashing your opponents would be great fun!! jdripley
I bet you anything they do something with Freya like they did with Neek. Either that or do with her what they did with Gerard and his Wolf ability. Since the idea of the dwarf expansion is the "main" dwarf army comming to help the entrenched Taltain dwarves, I think the two lists will be Taltain Dwarves and Adonese Dwarves (not those names, but those two general armies.) Taltain list at least will retain Bane (and hopefully Adonese will pick it up), looks like Adonese get the berserkers and Taltain will most likely get extra shieldmaiden/tough model action (since Freya leads the shieldmaidens to be more active than the Adonese army). I'm hoping for a warmachine in the Adonese list. Razig has cannons, why can't the Dwarves have something like that? Only I don't want Soul Cannons. Maybe something with an AOE/# ranged attack or something. Something with an artillery feel. I bet overall the Adonese list will feature lightly armored, high speed, high MAV models and the taltain list will feature higher armor, slower, and a bit lower MAV models (but still decent MAV's since that's a dwarf distinctive). The King will definately be a Taltain list only model, so hopefully a 3rd Warlord comes out that can go in both lists, that way you aren't shackled if you want to play Taltain in 1501+. And of course I'm still pulling for an adept and a sgt or cpt that has burrow!
Qwyksilver
I'd bet an Earth Elemental solo, along the lines of the Aspect of the Flame, will raise it's head. If it doesn't have SA: Burrow, that would be an absolute tragedy. In addition to the model points for a Cavalry troop, making an entire subfaction based on Bear Riders would also create a huge financial cost to buy those models. It just wouldn't make good business sense to price people out of an entire subfaction, as cool as it would be, considering that the everage cost of a Cavalry type unit is 10-13 bucks. If you use Thorvald Clawhelm as a baseline, for model price at $13.00, to field a 1000 point army based around that would be EXPENSIVE, presuming that you would have models costing less and fighting poorer than Thorvald and Fishripper there. spiritual_exorcist
I think the biggest problem with having an Earth elemental is making it different enough fromt he Grave Horror. I like the idea of a standard sized elemental Solo with Burrow arounbd about the same price mark as the Dust Devil. Hard to say, I certainly think they'll get one though. Qwyksilver
You could easily add/create some SA to it to make it different from Grave Horror. Innate(Rock Friends) comes immediately to mind. Burrow as a Free Action. Summon (Cleric). Stone Wall - Can summon a 1"x2" Size 1 Heavy Cover Stone Wall or 1"x4" Size 1 Light Cover Earthen Wall.
