Emmel Eitch
With the mass update of the Data Cards to 1.2, we've decided to prune out old tactics discussions as they may be confusing the newer players.

Rythian
Frog Swarm, where are those located?? Also I though Tariq changed slightly.
Gus Landt
Frog Swarm, where are those located?? Also I though Tariq changed slightly. Frog swarm was not added as a Soldier model. Tariq has not changed since the faction book, but he is 5 points more than in the core rulebook.
lonelymonk
Khufu - 257 Netikerti - 53 Awakened x9 - 189 Tariq - 56 Khamsin Rangers x 3 - 123 _____________________________ Total so far 678 Local Store plays starter box (plus a Sgt and 1 blister of archers) Max points is 750... I would say your best 2 options are: Add Lesser Magic upgrade (15 points) and one Lighting Bolt (50 points) to Netikerti. OR Drop 2 Awakened from Troop one and add two Lighting Bolts (100 points) to Netikerti and Divine Favor to Khufu. If you can purchase a different leader instead of Khufu (I'd recommend the Chosen of Sokar), that will open up a TON of points, and you could fill Netikerti with spells. dewen
Lightning Bolt is a nice spell. I recommend it plus a couple Bolts and/or Ice Shards. Magic upgrade is nice for Netikerti. I sometimes put Lesser or Improved Armor on Tariq. You can also add a Bandage or Bless to Tariq. If you drop Khufu and pickup a Chosen, you can't have the elite (Netikerti) but you could move her to Tariq's troop. Khadath is an option, but it sounds like lonelymonk needs to start with the boxset.
Outkast Samurai
You might want to consider some bless/bandage spells for Tariq especially since he is with the archers. Give Neti some lower level spells to spread the wealth and that way your force isn't relying on a single model with lots of points that may get tagged when you aren't looking. lonelymonk
Khufu - 257 Hold spell lesser magic armor Divine intervention Netikerti - 53 2 x ice shard Awakened x9 - 189 Tariq - 56 2 x bless Khamsin Rangers x 3 - 123 _____________________________ Total so far 678 Local Store plays starter box (plus a Sgt and 1 blister of archers) Max points is 750... dewen
IMO Hold is too expensive a spell to have on Khufu because his CP is somewhat low. I would put a less expensive spells like bless or bandage on him. Here is a recommended list based with your restrictions. I am doing points from memory because I don't have my book with me. Netikerti can cast Ice Shards and be deadly from range. Fear can be cast before engaing in melee or while melee is in process. And don't worry about the Awakened because they're immune to it because of SA Undead -> Fearless. Khufu 257 - Bandage 10 - Divine Favor 10 Netikerti 53 - Ice Shard x2 20 - Fear x2 20 Awakend x9 189 Tariq 56 - Bless x2 10 Khamsin Rangers x3 123 Total
Briareos
Since I already have some Nefsokar minis from an Ebay lot, I am thinking of doing an army... Without the benefit of a book, I made a force based on the Data Cards. Any criticism would be appreciated. Army List: Troop 1 361 Ammat + GMA 145 9 Tomb Guard 216 Troop 2 335 Khadath + DF 99 Reborn 71 5 Dervishes 165 Troop 3 154 Chosen 31 3 Khamsin Rangers 123 Troop 4 149 Walking Avatar 149 4 activations, 22 models, 999 pts

Your archers would probably work best against other archers, mages, or enemy breakers. The only problem I see is a lack of magical support but I honestly don't know how much that is going to hurt you.
