Shakandara
Yay! The 2nd wave of my Reptus have returned (a much bigger wave too)! As soon as I get through photographing them, I'll post some pics here. Just wish I had a good gaming table to photograph a whole unit on... ~v
Shakandara
Ok, I'm not sure how big I can make a message, nor if it'll scream if I put too many pics in. So, two messages; grunts in one, and leaders, elites, and solos in another. I'll also spare you more of the same type as what you've already seen (archers and clutchlins), even though I got more of each in. Here's the grunts... ~v Here's the leaders, elites, and solos... As always, I take no claim for actually painting these; I'm just good at finding people to hand the job off to that do nice work for me. ~v
Stubbdog
I have to say... I dont care for that blue orange combo at all... BUT... At the same time I cant help but say how EYE CATCHING they are and they DO spark a bunch of radical color thoughts in my head. So, for that i thank you. I need to expand my color horizons a bit and step out of my conservative box more than I do.
Shakandara
At the same time I cant help but say how EYE CATCHING they are Talk about your left-handed compliments... "My, that's a very EYE-CATCHING ensemble you are wearing today!" I like 'em, dammit, and that's all that matters. ~v
Darkknight107
I have been playin reptus for a little while now and i am still confused on the feed the young special abilty. How do you use it? I heard someone say that you could only use in campain is this true? Awesome blue and orange Reptus Shakandara
Hellsgate
only in champiagn and when you play with bounty points. When you loot a model that requires a role to see how many bounty points you gain you add 2 to what ever you role. I must say that i like the blue & orange lizards, but i don't think green works for the trolls, sorry.
shakhak
I have been playin reptus for a little while now and i am still confused on the feed the young special abilty. How do you use it? I heard someone say that you could only use in campain is this true? I'm not sure how campaign play works but I'm sure someone else can explain that better than myself. In the core book there is a scenerio of play called Bounty or something. In it your goal isn't to kill all of the enemy models, it is too collect a number of bounty points equal to a pre-determined amount. You get Bounty points in two ways. Killing a model: You get points equal to the cost of that model. And Looting a model: You get to make a roll based off a chart and get to keep that many points. It is here that reptus get +2 to their roll. Personally, I think reptus really have a disadvantage when it comes to faction abilities. When the faction book comes out, I'm sure this will be remedied; and I'm not saying this to make you think the reptus are unbalanced, but to let you know you shouldn't expect too much out of the abilities, and to get you pumped for the faction book :)

spiritual_exorcist
Still, in a Bounting Hunting scenario +2 to every model you loot in a 1000 point game could end up easily being 30-50 points, which is equal to about 2-3 extra points worth of models being killed, so while in terms of game play it may be ineffective, in terms of who actually wins it might prove to be the difference in tight games. shakhak
I don't disagree that it Could happen. I just haven't seen it in play. But I don't usually Loot 10-15 models during a bounty game, I always seem to get tied up often. So I think on average I loot about 8-11 or so models; about 1/3 of the enemies army and that's if things are going my way. I do still make occasional use of Jade Aura, but that is maybe... just maybe twice per game. But I still win a good number of games, and I enjoy playing my Reptus the most out of all other armies. spiritual_exorcist
The Reptus do have a bit of a raw deal, but I have little doubr Reaper has taken note and will provide Reptus players with a fairly substantial Faction ability when the faction book comes out. smokingwreckage
But from what I hear, Reptus Faction SA might well be "we don't need no steenking faction SA"
Hellsgate
I must say that I fined that the Jade Aura comes in handy but not enough that it could pass as our only fraction SA. A bunch of Aura's would be a good fraction SA, have to sacrifice a move action to use any one of them, but give you a +2 on a single stat till your next activation. We concentrate on doing a single thing e.g. defending, attacking, blocking magic, shooting. It would give us an advantage but at the same time have its draw backs because we couldn't do anything else that turn. It would also make some of our current models more viable, have them move at half there speed but they then get a DV 11 or the archers have the options to move & shoot, shoot too shots or shot one at a RAV 4. Out of curiosity I would like to see what other people see the SA to be and give a few of them a play test to see if any are actually a viable and fair fraction SA. Shakandara
I dont care for that blue orange combo at all... Well, I'm home from the con, and had a blast. More on that after I've had some sleep. But first, I needed to quote Stubb's post from a few days back so that I could make this little announcement... I whipped Stubb's butt Friday night as karmic payback for him dissing my blue and orange lizards. Learn from his mistake; don't be a 'dog. ;) In all seriousness, Stubb was a great opponent, but the dice and initiative cards were against him. My activations came up all together at the beginning of round 3, and my dice were hot. He had to make all of his movements first in round 2, and his dice were cold. Yet, he managed a smile (forced at times, perhaps?) the whole time and was the quintessential "good sport" in defeat. He even dropped a bunch of his home-cast resin bases in my case at the end of the night, and insisted that I post the smack-talk about our round when I got home.... This post's for you, Jason. ~v
