bonelock
Hey all. Sorry to ask such a newb question but where the heck is chai-uut and what are his stats? Couldn't find a figure for him in the gallery or a card for him with the rest of reptus stats.

Thanks for the quick answer@ Ahhhh... I wondered why there wasn't any reptus captain. After reviewing several pages, the consensus seems to be that when playing 1000 point reptus army choose a captain over a warlord and invest the difference in grunts and adepts. Thoughts? Most of us follow that logic if you look back over some of the lists posted. Despite having the best Warlord in the game, Khong-To is rarely used. wildbill
Maybe in YOUR neck of the woods, but here, my Reptus player will ALWAYS take Khonh-To in games 1,000 points or higher!! Trust me...archers are your friend when facing that guy!! Wild Bill
Sivrel
In my neck of the woods Khong-to is rarely used in small games too, but archers kinda help against Warlords in general.
Outkast Samurai
I've found that terrain has a lot to do with my taking the K man. In tight quarters Khong will more than make up his point costs. But let him get mobbed and it gets ugly. Clutchlings with their runner help give him some good cheap backup.
Hellsgate
we mainly play a 1000pt game. At that size i don't take Khong-to and at best i take an archer, just for pot shots. I useally have Chai-uut 3warriors 3skullbreakers 3clutchlings T'kay, Audt 6x warriors 2 clutchlings, Uru, and a todem (this is more or less my list but i don't have it with me so i may be a bit out)
Shakandara
Last night I scrapped the usual D&D session because we were short a few players, so Erick and I played a couple of Warlord battles out at ATFS. He ran Crusaders, so I decided to finally give the Krung a try. I figured the relatively lower numbers of Crusaders might help me in the model-count department. I also took Uru, Ssudai (loaded with a Firestorm, which I rarely do), and no archers. I think I was outnumbered 20-16. Despite owning a 4-2 init. card advantage, Crusader activation kept coming up first every round. His archers dinged Uru in the first round (10's always hit...), and Uru was never a major factor in the battle because of it. However, once his skirmishers and battle nuns ranked up in front of Lord Fancypants, Ssudai dropped the Firestorm, taking down 2 nuns, 3 skirmishers, and knocking the divine favor off Ironraven. That evened the numbers game, and let me take a small force against Ironraven and the remaining nun and skirmishers, while the rest of my grunts took on the archers and the templar warriors guarding them. The Krung crossed the field unmolested at that point, and was able to start stomping templar warriors into red paste. Erick's dice were fairly uncooperative. I'm not ready to call the Krung experiment a success, as my opponent was focused on Uru from previous experience, and the use of a Firestorm caught him off guard as well. It was fun to finally field him, however. ~v
shakhak
My experiences with the Krung Beast are usually not very exciting. But I love the model and use it often. Although He doesn't kill his point cost usually, he usually Holds up alot of models while I even the playing field on other parts of the board. So although he only kills 70 points, the fact that he can hold up 250 points for 3 rounds is advantage enough for me to take him.

Hellsgate
He's also good at mowing down grunts 3attacks + warmaster so long as they don't pass too many tough checks (ask brush master about this one) or of cause he's not swarmed
urion
I've fought against the Krung Beast on a number of occasions, usually two at a time. They are melee machines. They can certainly be swarmed, there isn't a model that can't, but it is the amount of troops they take with them that matters. Even if they don't kill their point value in models they clear out at least six guys, usually. Once you start trading one model for five or six things start going in your favor. I have usually survived battles with Krungs, but it sure isn't easy. If you back them up with a lot of warriors and Khong-to then they are a real terror. He handles the damage much better than other things in your army, higher DV so they miss more often, large base so clerics can always see him, Warmaster so he gets all of his defensive strikes, slow so it's better if the enemy comes to him, and is likely to be surrounded so he can make use of the Jade Aura better. Very similar to what a Tank class does in an MMO. I think of a distraction as a slow, or scare spell. Something that will force your enemy to use an action doing something else. Or even a model that gets you enemies attention but isn't too much of a threat, like a mage with no spells. I actually use Uru as a distraction, but I doubt that would work in other places besides where I play :)
drjsallison
Uru and his band of moldy brothers are a good distraction no matter where you play.
