Hey Reaper! Ron, Cheryl, Bryan, Jay, ANNE!, you Sculptors, Painters, Black Lightning people, and forum friends, and EVERYONE I might have just missed mentioning-- (Debbie, Mengu, Skya, Eastman, Fieldarchy...sorry, I know I can't remember everyone from around these parts!)

Thank you. I had a wonderful convention, in major part because you guys, Reaper and Reaper Fans, supported our Hobby Events, supported me personally (did I forget to hug someone? HUGS to everyone I missed!), and you guys rock! This was the best convention ever for me and my minions and I wanted to say it for all the world to see--

I am, as always, your fan.

Thank you to Reaper from me too! I didn't get the chance to spend a lot of time with Reaper folks, but when I was able to, it was great! I loved getting to see some of the upcoming minis up close, and it was nice getting to chat with Jay, Ron and Bryan again, even if only for a few moments. Anne's class on colour was very interesting and helpful, I'd recommend it if you get the chance. (Bonus class fun was getting to pick out two colours we thought clashed the most and watching Anne make it work.) Extra special thanks to Anne for helping me out of a personal painting jam. It was great to spend a few minutes chatting with some of my fellow Reaper fans, also - Cerridwyn1st, CuteButPyscho, Debby, Vutpakdi and... probably a couple other folks that I'll be embarassed not to have mentioned later.

I'd also like to give a big, big thank you to Sue and all her crew. This is my fourth GenCon. My first was the first time I picked up a brush at the paint 'n take. Every year I'm impressed at how well the miniature events, classes and contest are organized, and how every year there are more options. I've had far, far fewer problems with cancellations, moved rooms, and other organizational errors in the mini events than with any of the other types of game events I've tried, and when they are problems it's usually misprints or something like that on the GenCon end rather than Sue & crew making mistakes. I tried to give back a tiny bit by helping out a little this year volunteering at the paint 'n take when they were short-staffed, but that's a drop in the bucket of thanks I owe Sue and all the others who contribute to the painting events.

I thought Reaper was amazing at Gen Con. I was there working for another company but the paint and take area was constantly packed and full of energy. I saw a little boy trot away carrying his mini like it was made of gold, literally holding it with both hands running down the isle of the mini hall with the biggest smile on his face to show it off to mom and dad. Great job Reaper family!!!

I had a wonderful time at my GenCon (a sorely needed vacation), and I thought that the quality of the 7 paint classes that I took was very high except for one. I really appreciated the guidance that I received, even if some of the classes were a bit of a reach for me (at this time). The paint classes (and room) were run very well, and things were handled smoothly even when we found out that one of the classes would have to be cancelled due to an instructor getting sick.

I really enjoyed running the BL Warlord demos as well. My favorite sessions were two where there was a father and son (12-14) pair who played (in 2 hr demo game events). In both, the fathers let their sons do what they wanted even if they ignored their gently offered advice. In particular, my last demo session went really well: everyone seemed to have a really good time, both sides played well, the scenario ended with just a few models on either side and a pyrrhic victory for the dwarves, and everyone seemed really enthusiastic about picking up some rule books or starter sets the next day with the "I played a demo" discount coupons. A really good feeling at the end of a very long day. ::):

As an extra bonus, on Sunday, I noticed that the son who played in the last demo game also won the Hatchlings paint contest (with a Reaper mini).

Of course, I liked meeting folks that I only knew as screen names before the con including Wren, Debby, ReaperBryan, and the BL crew.

I thought I'd add my couple cents to this thread, as I thought Reaper had a great presence at gencon. I had a ton of fun meeting everyone, some just in passing, but others I got to chat with for a bit longer. Definately was good to meet you Anne, I wish I had had more time to talk. I think i won't try to list everyone I spoke with, since I know I'll forget someone, but I did just want to say that Reaper definately came across as a class act at the show, keep it up! :)

This GenCon held a lot of firsts for me. This was my first GenCon and Reaper made it well worth my while to be in attendance. This was my first event as a member of Black Lightning. Running demos for 4 days is tiring, but it was awesome ::D: The rest of the BL crew there were awesome!! This was the first time I got to meet many of the other BL's as well as Reaper staff. The list goes like this (apologies to those I may have forgotten): Bryan, Anne, Sue, Janice, Ron, Tim, Shaun, James, Thane, Don, Gwen, Jay. This was also the first time I got to meet other forum junkies like Ranz, Gus Landt (& his brother Vince) and Hexxenhammer. It was a real pleasure meeting all of you and I look forward to seeing you again next year and hopefully sooner.

Special thanks to Cher (ladystorm) for inviting me and organizing the BL events and to Pete (Storminator) for circling the baggage claim for an hour and a half while my flight was delayed :grr: and dropping me off at 0-dark-30 on Monday for my 0700 flight :blink:

Can't wait for GenCon 2007 :B):

I too had a really great time. I got to talk to lots of the Reaper folks and some of the sculptors they had there. Played a game of Warlord, saw a few people from the boards here, I had a really good time.

The sculptors at their booth were probably one of my favorite things at the entire Con. Sandra and Michael were two of the nicest folks around.

I did a little writeup for it too, here's my take on the Reaper booth: http://www.displacedminiatures.com/gencon/reaper.htm

I should have got a better pictures of their gaming tables in the miniature hall, they had a very cool Reptus table setup for a campaign they were playing.

I like your con coverage a lot, both for Reaper and everything else. Thanks for doing that! I intended to do something like that last year and took a bunch of pictures, but never got around to it. Plus a fair number of pictures turned out not so great. So I know it's a bit of effort to do something like that and I just wanted to let you know it's appreciated.

Yes indeedy, that was awesome event coverage, Buddylee. I read the whole thing, so I'm a half hour behind on my miniature painting this week. :;): Great job, and thanks for putting your valuable time on the line!

you are so very welcome, and a big thank you right back.

I took the week off for family vacation, so I'm a wee bit late in acknowledging your post. :upside:
