Reaper Storage Case?

Ok, I am looking for a army transport case and in my searches I came across this: http://www.studio2publishing.com/shop/prod...79ee76335bff0e0

 

Anyways, anyone have any stories to share about this? It seems like it holds the same amount of foam as the other storage cases I have seen, the only thing is that is comes with 5 2" foam inserts instead of the assorted foam sizes. Can any tell me how many minis they can fit in this thing and if there is also room for paints in the outside pockets? Looks like it's a little bit less expensive than other cases, but I've never seen one of these in the flesh.

I've got my entire Moonscar Court and Razig armies in one of these. I like the zipper down the side. You need to be careful pulling the foam squares out though.

I bought one and I think it's awesome. The stackable trays are great and get this, you can buy trays of varying height depending on your minis. I've got a 6" and a 1"; the 1" holds my kobold army (gosh I love the Reaper Kobolds...they look like they stepped out of the 1e Monster Manual - and for an old-school gamer like me that's very important); the 6" I use to haul dragons, demons and the like around in. Just swap out the trays you need!

 

As far as tearing out the foam yourself, that's no big deal, but be sure to leave some space between the center of each slot you make and it's adjacent buddy; otherwise your slots will end up "floppy" and won't protect your minis as well.

 

As to how many minis you can fit, I think that varies as the trays can be shaped to your needs. I think the max you can get in 28mm is probably 30 or so per tray. Mine are all custom shaped to my collection so I can't really point at them and say "it works like this".

So is the foam the pull apart kind that is already scored and you just take out the little pieces that you need to?

Yes. If you're not careful though, you may have to glue back down the stuff around what you pulled out.

I've used Elmer's white glue with decent results.

if one has a Army Transport tote (the standard one) how well would one of these work for say a paint hauler & other stuff?

 

I've seen them but I picked up the AT instead (wish I would have went with the Reaper one, but I do like the AT, other the shoulder strap of cutting +3 on it, ha ha)

Best part about the deal is you can buy extra trays and load them with your armies and stack them on a shelf. Come game time you load your case with just the trays you need.
