The Adon Economic Confederation (NADO)

Recommended Posts

The Furies were one of the larger cold-war era Merc Units. They were also the first major merc unit to have to disband after the war began due to the economic and sociological difficulties of running a Merc unit in the present state of the galaxy. You can read about them in the Mercs section of the rulebook.

Thanks Chrome.

As regards the main thread here....I actually like the "B-S" paint scheme too but would prefer a green metallic to their blue. Of course, Reaper's green metallic paint looks blue to me anyway so I'm back to my burnt orange camo scheme.

Woah, I thought the Ghast and Hedgehog were big, but the Overlord and Baron are friggin' 'uge!

IIRC the Overlord was originally designed to be a troop transport like the Kikyu, but between the time the 3D model was created and the JoR2 went to print, it got changed to a straight gunship for balancing issues. But that's why its so big.

Seems like there are a couple like that.

I mean, I'm not complaining, I love the look of both these vehicles

Hey Guys

I'm thinking of getting into CAV and am thinking through some lists. I love the electronic warfare aspect of the game so it seems like a no brainer to go Adon with their aggressive electronics doctrine! Take a look at this 2/3k list I've cooked up and let me know if you like it. So far only the Chancellor and the Jaguar are must-haves (because those are the ones I have/have on order!).

Armor Section:

---Chancellor

---Wyvern

---Jaguar

---Talon w/Artillery Bombardment and Air Strike

---Bishop

Mechanized Infantry Section:

---Lynx x2

---Rifle Team x4

**That's 2k. I'd add what's below to bring it up to 3k and to give myself options for 2k or smaller games**

Flight Section:

---Kharl x2

Specialist Section:

---Mantis

---Dragoon

What do you think?

I'd move the Bishop to the specialist section in larger games and put the Mantis in your main armor section. In fact in the smaller games I'd find a way to get the Mantis on the table.

If Mil-Net's adjustments to CC are taken, Hwyrda Dyrnel (or however the heck you spell it) actually becomes a lot more useful. Rach infantry may be able to do extra damage when they hit, but Adonese will be able to hit more reliably. Thoughts and comments?

It would probably work out that Adonese would be better at taking out lighter targets--recon CAVs or light tanks--while the Rach are more capable of taking out heavy attack CAVs.

I dunno, it would probably come to wash against the supers. The Adonese will get more hits, but one point of damage each or two with satchels, while the Rach will get fewer hits, but cause two or three points of damage. Against the lighter CAVs though the Adonese would only be rolling to see if they score a critical hit while the Rach still have a chance at whiffing the roll. Of course this all on averages, the dice are either gonna love ya or hate ya in the end.

I submit that the Adon should be a mech infantry force than an Armor force.

The native vehicles are geared towards engaging at longer than normal ranges and Adon vehicles should never be close combatted by any force.

Relying on ranged fire to wear down the targets. while using ECM to force the enemy to close.

To put it in MMORPG terms.. ADON is the master DOT type foe. You have a couple of pieces to really hit hard, but you shoudl be hitting more often than your opponent does.

Haha, you're right and I'm an idiot. For some reason I thought it was just a flat +2 to CCV.

*smacks self for not RTFM*

edit:

Although.....since infantry can't remount in the same turn leaving infantry out in the open for at least a little bit....

Yes, Adonese infantry do have the advantage of being slightly more survivable. And I wouldn't want to go after them in cover.
