Really? I think the Terians look great. They're like a cooler version of GW's Necrons.

I might just buy the set to play as a boardgame for a while. If any of my buddies like it, maybe I'll expand.

If you do, be sure to go to the official site and get the downloadable section of the rulebook. It'll make your games much more interesting.

That's the story behind the OPeration Damocles Starter Box, at any Rate.

In the main rulebook It turns out the Therians visited AVA a long time ago and set up doomsday machines they could use when their main fleets arrived. Also, there are hints that they aren't out to exterminate life, merely to remake the universe accrding to their own design which will give rise to the perfect machine consciousness. They apparently uplifted the Karmans from Primates into intelligence, rather than destroy them...

And there's a lot of History between the UNA and the Red Blok that doesn't involve therians at all.

I'm still working through the rulebook...

anyone know a good place to pick this up on the net in the US?

i cant seem to find any place that carries the army books.

is the game solely driven by missions? i didnt see any points or anything on the cards so i was curious how you create forces or play games without a specific scenario?

i was also wondering what the difference is between the democoles (SP?) rulebook and the new seperate rulebook if any of you know?

The Damocles rulebook is an introduction rulebook. It just walks you through the basics and has scenarios; it does not have all the rules. The separate rulebook is the full-blown rules with more fluff.

The Army books aren't out in english yet, which is why no one has them. The Therian book hasn't even been published in French yet.

And the points for units are in the army books. Rackham specifically didn't include points on the cards so they can handle changes with more fluidity.
