Vinny
Vieta tosses aside the ruins of the chair and moves on to the next opponent. Trying to get in a position where his opponent is focused on Yarrin and has his back to him, Vieta climbs the bar, and, with a running leap, jumps onto the brawling man and tries to choke him from behind. haldir
Tolan the dwarf doesn't look up & just utters a single word "Nope."
Voladilk
"Ah well, thus ends that line of thinking," Tolan thinks to himself. Tolan wanders down to the docks to see if he can find a ship that matches the description that the dwarf gave him of the one he sold to Penkus. If he can't find anything he makes his way back to the inn where they have been staying.
haldir
Tolan As you make your way along the shorelines & docks of the district, you feel a sudden urge of power & knowledge as you reach level 2!! haldir
Vieta/Yarrin Yarrin shouts something & a flash of bright white light appears on the man's eye. "Agh!" the man shouts & hahlers as he rubs his eyes, while he flails his arms at whatever is in front of him. He steps forward & trips over the smashed chair, narrowly avoiding the splinter of a leg as it sticks in the air. Vieta, you manage to get up to the bar & then try to make a diving leap onto the guy, but as you are ready to jump, something trips you foot & you go face first into the bar. You shake the cobwebs & notice a trickle of blood from your nose but no permant damage is caused. You look up & see it's the big bouncer half-orc that tripped you. "Shadda know it would be you & your pal at the center of this." he growls. Suddenly a loud boom is heard from across the room. A rather husky woman with a eyepatch, holds a musket to her side, a large puff of smoke billows out from it's business end. "EVERYONE JUST HOLD WERE YAH BE!!" she shouts out. (Vieta make a Spot check) She holds the musket on her shoulder & walks through the crowd, they all part. "No one fights in my bar, NO ONE!!" she shouts. "Gregor, toss this lubbers out of here, all of them." "Yes, Captain!" Gregor the bouncer says, "Come on you. Go out the easy way or I can make it hard for yah, I don't fight like these two either." he says while pointing to the door. "Grab yer junk as you leave!" he says, still pointing. "Come on Vieta, we won't get any info here." Yarrin says. He awaits your reaction.
Vinny
(Spot check- 12) Vieta rolls off the bar and lands on his knees and palms, one hand wiping blood from his nose. Looking at the crimson stain on his fingers, Vieta goes into a fit of rage and, standing up, draws his pistol and aims it at the Half-Orc, intent on shooting down the creature. When the musket goes off, Vieta instinctively ducks and stands back, keeping his gun pointed at the bouncer. Otherwise, he does not move from his position. His thumb cranks the pistol's hammer back with an audible click. "Get out of here? Get out of here?!" Vieta retorts to Yarrin. "Listen mate, tis been less than 12 hours and I've already been in 4 damn fights! I've already killed 2 men. 2 men! In less than a day! Now... gimme one reason, one good reason, why I should make an exception of this scallywag, tusk-faced piece of deh-tri-tus and not blow his orc brains across the damn floor!" Without moving, or taking his pistol off of the bouncer, he glances at the woman with the musket. "Who the hell are you?" he asks.
Unglef
"Ah'm lookin' fer infoormation," Heleger replies to the priest's inquiry. "Wha' wood be tha best place aroon' here fer that?"
haldir
Heleger "Well my dwarven friend, information can be anywhere, it depends on what you are looking for. Are you looking for enlightment in His Holiness, the Justice Bringer, the wielder of the Cudgel, St. Cuthbert? If so then you've come to right place." The man face brightens at the thought of a new recruit into the church of St Cuthbert. Then he continues, "If you come to find where to find a good drink then I can help with that as well, as there are a couple of tavern near the temple. to the North of us is the Painted Hare & to the east is Fishfood. If you are looking for a bed for the night then you'll have to head North at the intersection here up to Parrot Street. Turn westward & then head across the bridge & then head two streets west, then turn North on Ratcatch Way. They are pretty friendly to deal with." The old priest finally says "If you are looking for a faith that is more toward your race, there is Shrine to Moradin west of hear on Main Street, near the bridge. If you don't need any of those, then I'm not sure if I can help, but please ask your questions & I'll do my best to answer them." Vieta Spot check: As you lying down on the bar top. You catch a half-elf with messy black hair & a peicemail set of leather armor, staring at you, while he is exiting the building quickly. "I be the owner of this establishment, Captain Isabella Rhienhold!" the woman says to you Vieta. "The man you have your piece pointed as is my first mate, Gregor Hosk." "Only 4, your green." the half-orc says, not intimidated by the pistol in his face. "My Captain & I been in more battles then you can imagine, boy." the half-orc says with a smirk. At this time the woman, that you smashed the chair over, starts to rise, shaking the cobwebs, as she gets up she is about to say something to you, but thinks otherwise & says, "Come on Wallace, we can get our drinks elsewhere." She starts to walk away. The large man rubs his eyes, finally starting to see again. All he does is clench a fist at both you & Yarrin. "Wallace, Come On!!!" she shouts. The man starts to turn away, but then turns. "You got lucky. spellweaver. Fight me in a fair fight & I'd whip your @$$." "Maybe we should find out, later." Yarrin says in response to the man. "Wallace, we can find them later & beat the crap out of them, come on!!" the woman, now grabbing the man's arm. Finally the big man gives in the woman. "And you, your a scab on the end of my nose, that is just waitin to be picked off." he says as he points to Vieta. The couple leaves the bar. "I'd do as your new friends suggest. Not to mention, they might be still by the door outside waitin for yah." Isabella says.
Vinny
Who was that? Vieta ponders as he spots the half-elf exiting. But with more pressing matters confronting him, Vieta keeps his gun pointed at the half-orc. He doesn't say anything, but steadily unlocks the hammer of his pistol and lowers it. Holstering his prized firearm, he turns to leave, itching to say some interesting last few words but refraining from such pleasantries. In his mind, he made sure to remember the name of the establishment and of the owner and her first mate. For future references... When he is outside, he snatches his cutlass from the table and, remembering Isabella's words, looks around for the couple that were causing trouble. "What the hell happened in there, mate?" Vieta asks Yarrin, not specifically angry at him but at the situation in general. "Why the hell were those two scalawags pickin' on ye for?" haldir
Vieta The half-orc just stares as you leave, thou he appears ready if trouble arises. The lady Captain also looks in your direction, but goes about her way as you leave the Empty Grave Tavern behind. Outside, you look around for the couple, but it appears that they have left. After about 10 mins of walking around & waiting, nothing. Yarrin suggests might head on back to the Gondola Station. As you are walking back to the gondola station, you ask Yarrin the question, his response. "Well I asked about Vanthus & got nothing, but when I asked about that woman, Brissa, that big olaf got all pissy about it. Said something "Who wants to know." So I slipped him a couple crowns & he got even angrier over it. That is when he grabbed me & bashed my skull into the bar." Yarrin says with a smirk. "I caught something about a sister & not a harlot or something & that is when you came in to save my hide. Ha ha." Yarrin laughs over the incident. You notice the time of the day, it's around 6 pm or so. Yarrin says "We might want to head back to Lady Vanderboren's place & report what we've found. I guess we can come back here or check anther district that the others haven't hit yet tomorrow morning." He adds, "Never know the other may have the royal Pain in the @$$ already & have him back at the manor." As you are walking along, you feel a sudden rush of power, as you advance to level 2!! Unglef
Heleger nods his head as the priest finishes his speech. He had figured that was the sort of thing the human would say. Why had he had a sudden urge to come into the church? He knew that the best source of information would probably be at an inn or tavern, but he had thought to come to this place first, instead. He sighs inwardly. This sort of thing was right up the alley of some of his siblings, Tor in particular. Heleger's expertise at getting information usually revolved around hiting things with an axe. The dwarf is silent for a minute, then thinks, Oh well, why not? "Ah'm lookin' fer infermation onna feller namea Vanthus. Ever heard of 'im?" haldir
Heleger "I'm sorry to say but I've never heard of a man named Vanthus." the old man says. "I'm not good at remembering names & such. Sorry." the old man sighs.
Unglef
The dwarf sighs and nods his head, as if this was the answer he'd expected, which it was. "Aye, figgered as mooch. Thanks anyway, friend. May St. Cuthbert smite the wicked, always," he says with a small bow, and heads out into he street, thinking to try his luck at the Fishfood. haldir
Heleger The old priest tries to persuade you to say for a bit, but before succumbing to his words, you take your leave of the place. As you decend the stairs to the street, you think to yourself, that while St Cuthbert may fight on the side good & just, some of his priest can get wrapped up in his ideals & whatnot. Heading off in the direction of the Fishfood, you come to small tavern, a sign hanging off the wall shows a cartoon of man being eaten by a giant fish. You open the door & enter inside, the first thing that hits you is the smell of seafood. As you enter the tavern is pretty full but you find a spot at the bar. Asking for something to drink, you ask the barkeep about Vanthus Vanderboren, the man just nods nope, never seen him. After downing the drink, you ask the patrons of the bar & not a one says they've seen him. Thanking everyone you decide it's best to head back to Vanderboren Manor or at least to the meeting spot where you & Gil decided to meet back up at, as it was getting close to 8 pm. Making your back, mainly by buildings & other odd markers, you reach the bridge that marks Cudgel & Merchant District. You wait for your friend, but alas no one appears. About an hour passes & still nothing. You begin to worry about the gnome, but after bit decide he probably can handle himself, being a rogue in all. You head back to the Manor. (you feel a sudden wave of power over you as you reach level 2!! Unglef
On his way back to the Manor, Heleger keeps an eye out for Gilhurst, hoping the gnome isn't in any kind of trouble.
