Unglef
The dwarf laughs lightly at the half-orc's jest. "Ooh, yeah? Well Ah think Ah see soom bit aboot an Oonglefsoon there."
haldir
The note say this is a elemental earth gem. Nothing else really more or less "elemental earth gem" on the note. It looks like it was placed with the gem as not to confuse it with a regular gem.
haldir
Tolan actually is ok, even thou he has grown up in this district the waiting is kinda boring. No one comes to the shrine. Other then the quietness to relax him a bit, nothing. After a bit the party does come back up the tunnel. There is still light outside, but you have no idea what time of day it could be. Exiting the shrine, Tolan shows the way. The party makes it way east around the Skinned Man Tavern (it's sign showing a picture of flayed human) then South down Worgul Street, which come up to the Garrison, a large stone building. There are a couple of guards walking the grounds & one at the entrance, but he only gives you a look before lighting up a cigarette. As the party makes it way east again on the long shore road, the Harbor way. You can see Parrot Island to the South, looks like just a forested island. There is a large inn up ahead with a long private dock, everyone knows this place, the Plucked Parrot. A popular establishment in the area. Making your way past you come upon familiar buildings, Amedio Trading Concern, Sailmaker's Guildhall & finally the Gondola Waystation. You all board the next gondola, the pilot asks "Where too?" Spike
It only just then really occurs to Arwin that she may have finally found a more lucrative line of work and that for once she really likes the people with whom she is working. It also dawns on her that she has yet to secure any lodgings and is in serious need of a bath and possibly some sleep, even though it seems to be only midday. "B'fore we go ter any 'ouse of any 'igh-muckity-mucks, d'ye reckon we might find a spot where a lady might fresh up a bit?", she asks her companions. "Where do the rest of ye flop.'... err.. I mean, where are ye stayin'?"
haldir
"Lady Vanderboren has set up all up at the Strumpet's Excuse. It's a well kept inn north of her estate. It's run by a old man & his son. Seems like Lady Vanderboren had a debt to collect from the owners. She instead just gave us the rooms to use instead. I'm sure she'll be ok with you & Kavik using the inn. If anything with the death of Vieta, you can probably just use his room now." Yarrin says to you, Anny. "That reminds me I need to see if I can gather some info on his family. He said he had family in Noble District, but it also appeared he didn't want to show his nobility. Hmmm." Yarrin rubs his chin as he lost in the thoughts of his friend that was killed in the tunnels. Yarrin lets his arm drift overboard & his fingertips touch the water, you can see & hear just the touch revives the sea druid. The trip could take a eternity & it wouldn't appear to effect him at this moment. RM
Unglef
"Then less goo ta tha Strumpet," Heleger says. "We c'n rest, an' send word ta Lady Lavinia, an' maybe roon a few errands," he adds, thinking of the new breastplate awaiting him at the smithy. Qwyksilver
"A good night's sleep in a soft bed, or any bed for that matter, and a warm meal would be most welcome right now. I've been in that cesspool for what's felt like weeks. Plus, I still have a few wounds that will need some attention. Although a good night's rest should get me feeling well enough." Kavik stretches and rotates his right arm, working knots out of his injured shoulder.
Spike
"Big of ye ter offer.", Arwin replies to Yarrin, pleased to see he took the hint without further goading. "It's been too long since last I laid meself down on a proper bed with proper linens in a room all to meself." She drifts off into some strange reverie as the boat heads toward its destination. Anybody listening will catch her humming a tune in waltz-time.
haldir
The gondolier poles the boat across the bay. A few ships head out to sea, pass by on the journey.. The pilot knows his trade & skirts out of the way that only a small portion of the wake disturbs the gondola. The trip takes probably close to a hour to reach the the long dock that sits near the building. The pilot skillfully brings the boat to the dock & then reaches for a rope that is on the dock. He ties the boat off & you are allowed to disembark. When the last person has gotten onto the dock, he unties the gondola & throws the rope back onto the dock & poles away, probably to the nearest gondola station. Sasserine (I'm not sure I've ever posted a city map of Sasserine. Notes: the big circle is the Vanderboren Estate & the small circle is The Strumpet's Excuse.) You make your way down the dock & back onto dry land. A short walk leads you around the building & into the entrance. As the party enters the building, a familiar face greets the party, the innkeepers son, Thaddius (can't remember his name actually & I don't feel like thumbing through 81 pages to find it, ha ha). "There you guys are!!!" he says as he rushes over to the party. "I feared for the worst." he says as he leads you over to the lounge area. Your friend, the half-elf was found murdered in a alley not far from here. He was stabbed in the back. I feared they got you as well. It also appears that there was a struggle in his room. There was blood everywhere up there & also a young man was found dead in his room. He bore a dragon wrapped around a flower tattoo on his right shoulder. No other distinguishing marks." Thaddius says to you all.
Unglef
"'alf-elf?" Heleger mumbles as he takes a seat. Then the light of recognition flashes on his face. "Malrae! Ah woondered wha' happened ta 'im." The dwarf hangs his head and sighs. "Shame, really. Ah lahked tha' booy. We loost annoother oof oor coompanioons dooring oor little excoorsioon. Vieta, tha lad wi' tha pistool, will noo loonger be stayin' 'ere, Thad." The dwarf looks grim for a moment, thinking about his lost companions. He looks again at the innkeeper's son. "But, foortoone has smiled oopoon oos. We 'ave been blessed with two moor able boodied coompanioons. Fer the mooment, a' least, Kavik an' Arwin 'ere will be joinin' oos in tha lady's emplooy. Ye c'n give tha oothers' oold rooms ta them. Noow, bring oos all soom ale, soo we c'n toost oor departed members."
haldir
"Ah, good to see you & your other companions are fine." he says "So should I just add their names to the registry then? " The innkeeper's son goes into the kitchen & returns a few minutes later with a bottle of ale & glasses for everyone. Afterwards he goes over to the main desk & writes something in a book, probably the registry.
Spike
Arwin hears the innkeeper's son tell the news concerning the death of the half-elf and another of the inn's boarders. In a hushed voice she asks the others at the table, "Just 'ow many people do ye 'ave tryin' ter kill ye nowadays?"
Outkast Samurai
Yarrin looks at the half orc with a slight smile, "Well it keeps getting harder and harder to keep track of. Maybe we should keep a ledger."
Spike
"I'll be sleepin' with one eye opened t'night fer certain.", Arwin replies dryly. "I 'ardly knew yer two mates, but I'll toast 'em just the same.", she adds, filling her glass.
Qwyksilver
Kavik raises his mug of ale, and toasts bitterly, "To friends and family, lost for the sake of the Van der Booren." And polishes the mug off in one long draw. "I'm of a mind to head to bed, and soon. If I stay here drinking this evening, I fear my mood will become too dark. Much of my wounds are not of the physical and only time, rest and vengence will help dull their pain." Kavik flags down the innkeeper's son. "Lad, if you could please show me to my room."
