Minis we would like to see (fantasy version)

A half-orc rasta-warrior; kinda like the predator, only fantasy.

Also I'd like to see some dungeon furniture, like the Heroquest stuff but in metal.

And some vicious-looking goblins on equally vicious wolves. GW's plastic box is lame.

1. Corpses...

2. More characters with "traditional" style leather and studded leather armor...

3. More "character" style figures as others have suggested - bar patrons, trollops, workmen, etc...

4. More hobgoblin figures, and in something other than plate armor and helmets...

5. Sculpting armatures for races other than human, both larger and smaller...

1. Many years ago, I bought a pack of four "dead adventurers" from somewhere, just some random-warrior-types in standard "look, I'm dead..." poses.... And my local store has an old blister pack of 20 dead and wounded Norse-type folks in various positions on their shelf. I'd like to see maybe a three- or four-pack of corpses of various types of characters (wizards, fighters, etc) lying around with obvious battle damage or broken weapons sticking out - typical aftermath-of-battle stuff.

2. Alot of the minis I've seen over the years wearing non-metal armor either have on what I call "strap-mail" - random and mismatched small armor pieces held together by dozens of equally random straps, or are simply in regular clothes but for some reason wearing a single knee-guard or shoulder-piece, or if they have a full set of armor, it looks as though they're dressed in modern biker leathers with metal studs on them... I'd like to see some folks in just the basic old-school unadorned leather breastplate with shoulder straps and the skirt made of wide strips hanging past the hips... (Especially as I've recently gotten into converting minis into accurate representations of my rpg characters, which generally involves carving large chunks of excess armor plates and details off of them.)

3. Especially, as others have suggested, non-standard people like elven beggars, half-orc bartenders, etc., but also things like halflings in plate and half-orc wizards that don't look as though they were sculpted as novelty figures...

4. There are tons of orcs, goblins and kobolds, and even some bugbears out there, but very few hobgoblins. In reference to number 2 above, I have a hobgoblin character (ranger/fighter in chain shirt doing the longsword/shortsword 2-weap. thing) that I would love to convert a mini for, but there aren't many hobgoblin figures out there by any company, and most seem to be wearing plate armor and helmets...

5. Again, on a personal level, I'd like to do a few models for my personal characters, but I'm not nearly good enough to do them completely from scratch. Although armatures for dwarves would basically have to be dwarves, armatures scaled to elven size could also be used for smaller or thinner humans, and a halfling armature could be anything from a kobold or goblin to a gnome or human child. A larger-than-human armature, say, scaled to about 7ft. tall, could be any of the other humanoid races...

I think I asked once before for an accessory pack of magic-item accessories - pouches, vials, spellbooks, rods, wands, staffs, etc. Maybe just a whole pack of staffs and rods would be nice. I'd like to see some wizard staffs with no particular object on top, just an interesting shape. Maybe shaped like a huge femur, or twisted like rope, or covered in tiny spikes. Perhaps a wizard staff shaped like a snake twined around a pole, or a staff with a miniature humanoid head on top, mouth wide open. A staff with a flame shooting out of the top, a la Tim the Enchanter. :;):

I'd also like to suggest that some future spellcaster figures with staffs have staffs that aren't made of gnarled wood with a crystal on top. Werner Klocke in particular seems to like those. They're very nicely sculpted but a bit repetitive.

More staffs similar to the designs carried by 3157 Garwin Greywand or 3095 Damar Hawkwinter would be good.

The Dark Haven Line has a ton of very nice beast and man combo mini. The gnolls, bugbears, Rhinomen etc. One problem I have is none of them are pole weapon armed. There are some lizardy types, but I can't put a cold blood in my army and feel right about it.

Ok, here is a request for LESS.

Cut way back on the horned helms on dwarves. I know they are considered traditional ever since Bruenor Batlehammer on that book cover, but enough already.

The Warlord dwarf king has nice wings. That was a very viking thing to do. Let's have a few with winged helms.

Or just some different shaped brain buckets. The LoTR movie version of Gimli's helm had a nice stark look to it. Other historically based ideas for caps, pots and those close faced Greek helms are good too. I would like to see a normal leather cap or a bare head (bald or wooly), too.

Thanks. Now back to the regular program already in progress.

What he said. I'm no fan of the horns either. I'd rather see helms with no extra doodads on them (wings, horns, spikes, etc), just nice sturdy helmets with a specifically 'dwarven' aesthetic. In the LOTR books dwarves wore helms with intimidating masks, but I'd prefer to be abel to see their faces.

More thugs like the two you released for warlord (bravo on those, now we just need more poses), more dark dwarves like the current warlord ones, they are great. More cultists and pirate grunts like the warlord ones. (see, I love what you have been doing, just want more poses :) ) A werne klocke sculpted firegiant to match his beauty he just released.

A dire bear and wolves that are more dire like. Basically the bear needs to be twice the size of the current dire bear, and I use the hellhounds as dire wolves, just clip off the talons on the back of the legs, but more like those but not hellhounds would be good.

More World of Warcraft inspired minis (do with WoW like you do with D&D, 8 million players of the mmo, alot are prolly roleplayers as well).

Some bearmen creatures. Think of Rackham's wolfen. Now do some bear like creatures in that style, maybe norse like. Would be really cool.

Something we can use for shifters in Eberron games if we don't want to use D&D plastic minis. Slightly animalistic-looking humanoids, with pointy ears and flattened noses, fangs and claws, and lots of body hair. You could market them as "weretouched" or "beastblood" or something.

Something along the lines of the "Hybrids" from www.westwindproductions.co.uk in their Gothic "Isle of Dr. Moreau" is the idea you're going for there.

Hey there,

I was wondering if any ideas were generated for a mini of a Classic Spartan Warrior. Of course I ask only becasue I recently saw the film 300 and was inspired during the scene when the main character threw the spear (in super slow motion) at the Persian Bad Guy.

During that sequence (and the entire movie) there were a number of awesome poses that would look great in a 72mm sculpt. Not too much gear and armour, just clean lines with a nice dramatic spear, cloak and shield... helmut at his feet perhaps. I think it would look pretty cool.

Cheers,

Sparrow
