Stern Kestrelmann
Brull nods in response as he looks again toward the circling scavengers before turning back to whisper in a low throaty tone, "Yes Tar-rah-ill, Mau-tok le'tan."
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted June 27, 2005 Moderator Share Posted June 27, 2005 Archibald flits over to join the circling vultures, to see what he can see and circle what he can circle.
Lady Tam
As Archie flies over to 'mingle' with the vultures he looks down to see what they see. Below in the bloody grass is the signs of a slaughter. Blood splatters the grass, and feathers, fur and body parts also lay strung about. But what keep the vultures from landing is the feeble stuggles of one small creature, a creature who's very form shows what the remains of the larger ones were. A equine body, with the legs, head and wings of an eagle, it struggles to raise up on a broken leg, Wings flailing about for balance. minipainter
With the hackles on the back of his neck now standing on end, Dymitri is very alert. He checks his crossbow and loosens his chain for a more easy draw if needed. Been here done that, don't want to get caught off guard he thinks to himself as he makes his way back down the column, informing the group of the situation as he goes. As he turns back to take his place near Kaylie, he notices Archie moving up and away. Dymitri looks further and sees the vultures circling. He catches Kaylie's attention and points up, saying, "Looks like trouble ahead as predicted." Once again he ensures his crossbow is ready for action, and that he has easy access to his chain, just in case anything that may occur. I hate the anticipation. he thinks once again looking at the vultures.
styates
Tarail also observes the pseudo-dragon flying towards the carrion feeders. He pulls back his bow string a bit and eyes the disgusting birds in case one of them decides to have a taste of dragon meat.
coogle
"Good idea Macsen. Let's circle around, through the trees if we can." Reg nudges his horse moving again.
minipainter
Seeing Reg and Mac moving away from the column, Dymitri decides to join them. He motions to everyone who is staying to close ranks a bit, and says, "Stay alert, this could be a ploy." He then nudges his mount forward to catch up with Reg and Mac. He gives one glance, and smiles at Kaylie as he moves past. She's in good hands with Brull and the others, plus she is very capable herself. he thinks to himself as he brings his attention back to the here and now. Stern Kestrelmann
Brull watches intently as Dymitri moves off with the others. The big barbarian half-orc remains on edge, sniffing the air, and scanning the immediate surroundings for any signs of danger. Death is in the air. A battle recently fought perhaps, the smell of blood and fear still linger upon the breeze...
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted July 6, 2005 Moderator Share Posted July 6, 2005 Archibald shoots back to the group, babbling about a lion eagle thingy and blood and aargh and ohmygodit'sgonnadie and then shoots back to the vultures. Having done that, he screams at the vultures and tries to drive them away or at the very least give them a hissing they'll never forget. styates
Tarail, feeling his elven roots pulling at him upon hearing the animal's plight, glances at Brull and catiously spurs his mount forward towards the fallen creature.
Ech'Estar
Eyes getting hard, Telenar follows Tarail as he gallops towards what appears to be the area the birds are circling, hand oh so near to his rapier. By what he could make out of Archibald's cries, he can only assuming that trouble will be waiting.
Lady Tam
As the group that peeled off from the others gets closer to the carnage, you can see what was clearly two large adult creatures and one other adolescent, lying dead in the bloody grass. There are great raking gouges of flesh torn from them, and if not for the still living one, you would not be able to tell what they were when they were alive. The one surviving creature,, still flaps feebly and hisses at the group as it approaches.
Ech'Estar
Rapier held out defensively, and suspiciously eyeing both the wounded creatures and the surrounded area, Telenar holds back out of range. He stands ever alert, on guard.
coogle
Reg dismounts leaving his reins with one of his companions, and approaches the stricken creature, first he inspects what is left of the adult creatures, then he approaches the young one. Staying alert and on his feet. After seeing the wounds, Reg moves back to the pack horses and removes some dried meat. Going back to the creature, Reg tosses the meat infront of the creature, and waits to see what happens.
