wildbill
I remember a post that Qwyk did some time back stating that in a 10,000 point army he could field 666 goblins, plus a Divine Favor. Well, I always wanted to field a Razig’s Revenge army with all 20 Soul Cannons plus the Dark Maiden on the field. I figured that if I was going to do that, all of the units needed to be at max capacity, just because. So, without further ado, here is my army list: Captain Razig + Divine Favor + Greater Magic Armor Clarissa + Improved Protection + Greater Accuracy Upgrade Jackie Bones + Greater Magic Armor Soul Cannon + Greater Accuracy Upgrade 8 Bone Marines 4 Zombie Recruits Totem of Battle Dark Maiden Black Knife Tom Soul Cannon 8 Bone Marines 4 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Bone Marines 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Bone Marines 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Bone Marines 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Baron Le Bone Soul Cannon 9 Bone Marines 4 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Bone Marines 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Bone Marines 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Bone Marines 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Bone Marines 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Mister Blood Soul Cannon 9 Skeletal Harpooners 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Skeletal Crewmen 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Skeletal Chain Gang 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Skeletal Chain Gang 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Grim Pete 9 Skeletal Chain Gang 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Mister Blood Soul Cannon 9 Skeletal Chain Gang 2 Zombie Recruits Soul Cannon Totals: 9,996 Points, 225 Models, 32 Troops, 32 Initiative Cards 88 Bone Marines. 38 Zombie Recruits. 20 Soul Cannons. 11 Grim Petes. 2 Mister Bloods. 1 Razig. All badass. I also made sure to take at least one model of every type of unit in Razig’s Revenge. I figured that would only be fair. I took advantage of the Mob ability in every troop. Notice that I have 3 models over 1/3 of Qwyk’s army. I figure those would be needed to get around his Divine Favor. Now if I only had the funds to purchase such an army... **Sigh** Wild Bill
notsoevil
Forget buying them .. what about painting them?
Evilbob
I have a bunch of Razig and (my husband technically) a ton of goblins. If everyone who has some brought them to say RCon or Gen Con then WildBill and Qwyk could duke this one out.
Redhandstudios
Forget buying them .. what about painting them? I had a friend that used to let me proxy pennies, nickles, and dimes into my 40K army as 'nids....perhaps you can try fielding this beast that way...hell if you subsituted silver dollars it's still be cheaper! wildbill
Forget buying them .. what about painting them? Painting? What is this painting that you speak of? I would be happy to not have to spend 2 years just assemblies the [email protected]#&%@ds! I have a bunch of Razig and (my husband technically) a ton of goblins. If everyone who has some brought them to say RCon or Gen Con then WildBill and Qwyk could duke this one out. I do own some Razig stuff myself. So, I could take care of some of the requirements as well. I figure the hardest part to come by would be the 88 Bone Marines. Well, for my army at least. I'm sure 666 goblins are a tad harder to gather together. Wild Bill
Voladilk
At the moment I am doing a comission paint job for a friend of mine. I have over 150 models to paint for him and I am about 30 into it. It takes ages, but will look good in the end. Mind you these are just Sisters of Battle so nothing fancy or intricate at all. If you used plain skeletal warriors as substitutes for most of the Razig's stuff you could get them painted fairly quickly, but still 225 models would take ages to paint. My one thing that I HAVE to say is....How sweet would it be to see 20 soul cannons on the field surrounded by that army??? It would look awesome just to see it done. I think EvilBob's idea of everyone bringing their stuff to ReaperCon would be cool. As I live in Australia and would not be able to come (or bring my stuff either!) if you guys do it can you take a photo and post it??!! Pretty Please! Stubbdog
At only DV7, I would not be worrying about getting battle totems (that would be quickly surrounded probably), that is costing you 1000 points by itself. Against some other army build it is a great buy (like example for those 666 goblins). Instead for 1000 points you could add a whole lot more road blocks for to hold up the enemy for your bone marines.
Qwyksilver
Heh. The deployment zone for a Noghra Army of that size would be ridiculous. You HAVE to have a deployment zone larger than 2'x2' just to fit them all in (24"x28" to be exact) and that is packing them all in like sardines. Which would just suck with the Soul Cannons firing into it. Talk about massive slaughter by the scores. Now granted, the 666 Goblin list is just an endless horde of Noghra Warriors using You be the Leader. So I'd have 132 troops of 5 Goblins and 1 troop of 6 Goblins. For a total of 133 cards in the Initiative Deck Sure the numbers would be insane, but it would be a slaughter on a grand scale with all those soul cannons unless we played on a table like 10'x10' Oh yeah, and my army would cost: 222 blisters of Noghra Warriors @ $13.49 each = $2994.78 It would be rather fun to see it fielded if I ever took utter leave of my senses. I did love seeing the Noghra Army at ReaperCon this year!
Spike
I've got 10K of orcs I could bring to RCon... but that'd mean some of 'em would have to sit on the bench .. :( .. but I digress. Remember last year we talked about the Monglash-versus-EVERYBODY match? I say this year let's get it on!
wildbill
Qwyk, I was totally thinking the table would be every bit of 10'x10'. The deployment zone would be like 12"x10'. To me, that would be the only thing that would make sense. Of course, lots of terrain would be needed. I'm sure that realistically such a battle would never happen, just because of the sheer scale of it. But, man, wouldn't it be sweet to actually be able to pull it off? Plus, with 133 init cards in the deck plus my 32 (for a total of 165! ) we would have to use 4 packs of playing cards! Oh, and I don't want to see what the Razig army would cost to actually purchase all of that metal!! I might pass out from shock! Qwyksilver
If I even went and added up all the money I've actually spent on Reven and Crusaders over the past 2 years, I think I would probably be ill.
FreeFall
666 goblins? I wonder how many Bondslaves I can pack into a 10,000 point army.
Qwyksilver
Don't forget to include all the leaders you would have to pay for to do it. And unfortunately, Iks is unique. Using You Be The Leader with the Noghra list I don't have to use anything but Noghra Warriors.
kristof65
Oh yeah, and my army would cost: 222 blisters of Noghra Warriors @ $13.49 each = $2994.78 I'm sure if you ordered all 222 blisters at once that Reaper would give you a quantity discount - say, $13.00 each = $2886.00 That saves you over $100 right there. And if they are more generous than I, you might even save more, particularly if you accepted bulk packaging and factory seconds. Heck, maybe you could even talk them into selling you the Master Series Paints you'd need for all those guys in quart sizes, too.
Humansquish
Remember last year we talked about the Monglash-versus-EVERYBODY match? I say this year let's get it on! I'm up for it. I think I have about 2500 in Darkspawn.
