Breaks and Class Times

Recommended Posts

I can think of one other person in your crew who is usually up late, Anne. Plus, she lives on the west coast, so 9-11 would actually be 7-9 for her. ::P: However, her schedule might not be the same in six months as it is today.

classes for those hardcore instructors, on the same subject. The only thing I could see a problem with, as I believe that Patrick already brought up, is that it seriously kills any evening "bonding time" the instructors normally get together during the Con.

You could schedule one night of no classes past a certain time to give the instructors a break and a chance to bond.

Ultimately it doesn't really matter to me in any way. Any classes I manage to work in will have to be those available when I'm not doing the dungeon crawl or the auction. Which reminds me if I had my preference there would be no classes going on while I'm running the auction. I like being the center of attention now and then! ::D:

I wouldn't mind at all some evening classes--I too tend to keep very late hours on a regular basis and definitely would enjoy a lower teacher/student ratio!

As I'll be coming in from the west coast myself, a 9-11 class would not be that bad, as long as I wasn't expecting to do anything early the next day.

I think an hour break between classes is excessive, but the 30 minute option or the 10 minute option is alright. Mengu's staggered lunch idea sounds like a good lunch solution.

However, in an earlier post you asked about the lunch breaks with regards to why people didn't like them. Although I wasn't there last year, I would be in the "my husband games and I paint, so it's impossible to have lunch together" boat, but OTOH, we can probably handle a weekend of eating separate meals ;)

My preference would be for option one or two, but my vote is influenced by the fact that I'm a vegetarian and have to go off-site for meals

Yeah, I noticed the "everything has meat" menu on the Sonic web site... how far from Reaper is the nearest veg-friendly food joint?

Not too far - Black Eyed Pea serves a veggie plate... and there's a Jason's Deli a few blocks further...

You do have to be a bit careful about veggies at Black Eyed Pea though. A few, like the black eyed peas and the turnip greens are cooked in meats and have bits of meat in them (ham and bacon, respectively).

On an interesting side note, at the Black Eyed Pea, a order of chicken fried steak, sans gravy, has fewer calories and less fat than an order of grilled chicken breast and white rice(which must be cooked in an amazing amount of butter).

Oops yes. A general rule of thumb to remember: Corn maybe have bacon in it & sometimes some places use bacon in red-beans & rice, or mashed potatoes. It's always important to ask about how the stuff is prepared...

I tend to make up a cooler full of sandwiches and drinks that I bring with me to help save against food costs. If veg heads want to pm me ahead of time with acceptible sandwich filler materials, I'd be happy to pack a wich or two for them as well.
