Thanks for the quick response!  Currently, my troops have a main color theme base color, but the accent colors are different for each troop.

 

For example, all Reptus troops have a base color (not skin color!) of Teal.  But each troop has a different accent color on their armor, red, green, orange, purple, etc. that differentiates the troops.  Makes it easier to keep the units separated, as they like to mix it up in the bars after a hard day on the battlefield, and as we all know... all lizards look alike.

Yeah, absolutely nothing wrong with that. I often add a white stripe to one of the base sides of my models, and then use a black marker to number the models. As long as I know which numbers belong with which troop, it's easy to figure them on the table.
