cutebutpsycho
Everyone’s favorite speed-painter Robert “Jester” Cruse is going through his second surgery since November. After 9 months of not being able to work and with today’s insurance policies and their high deductibles and co-pays, he could use a little help paying for his medical bills. But we all know Jester, we know he would NEVER ask for help and would have a hard time accepting it. Which is why a group of us have gotten together to do “Project Jester”! What is “Project Jester”? Gamers, painters, and collectors who know and love Jester are donating painting and gaming related items to be sold in auctions on ebay. This could be RPG materials, limited edition minis, painted minis, or anything else the gaming community might be interested in. The items will go on ebay under the ID 4badkatz, clearly marked as “Project Jester” items. Throughout the time the auctions are running, ONLY “Project Jester” items will be listed on this account. A Paypal account has been set aside for the sales on these items and EVERY PENNY (excluding shipping costs) that is in that Paypal account will go straight to the Cruse family to help pay medical bills. How can you help? GREAT question! Cutebutpsycho, also known as Erin Warfield, is taking point on this one. Email her at [email protected] if you have a donation. ANYTHING is welcome. Since she already has a small ebay presence with painted minis, if you have an unpainted mini you would like to donate, she will be glad to paint it (or find a painter to do so) before listing it. Don’t have anything to donate? Are you a good painter? Once again, email Erin and she will send you one of those minis that are sent unpainted for you to paint. Don’t have an item to donate, or painting skills? That’s okay! Visit the ebay page and bid high and bid often. Or, if you don’t find anything you want-visit the special Paypal account registered under [email protected] and make a straight up donation. Or tell your friends about “Project Jester”. Feel free to add a link to the auctions in your sig line or anywhere else you would like.-It's the link in my sig line A website will shortly be added with information about the progress of “Project Jester”. It will include information on what has been donated, who has donated it, when the item will be on ebay, what the item goes for, and a running tally of the amount of money brought in by the auctions. At the end of the auctions, when we run out of items and things have stopped coming in, Erin will have Paypal send a paper check which will be scanned and displayed on the website. This way, everyone can keep track of everything that has been brought in and the progress that is being made. Jester doesn't know I'm doing this-it's intended as a surprise. I know I can't get away with it long since it's on the web and all, but if you could refrain from mentioning it to him if you speak to him, I'd sure appreciate it. I post with confidence right now because he is currently at the hospital! THANK YOU for your time, donations, and bids! Every item and every penny helps THE FIRST AUCTION HAS BEGUN! More will come as items start arriving. I'll also list at least a couple more items from my house this weekend. Just wanted to let everyone know it won't be one at a time. Watch here for a website-coming soon! Hopefully this weekend~! and a big thank you to Reaper for letting me put this here!

Moderator TaleSpinner Posted February 7, 2007 Moderator Share Posted February 7, 2007 I'm in. I sent Erin an email, so if you want my version of the Cloak Fiend (the one from my Making Money article in The Craft), look for it in the auction. Jester has been a big help to me and my painting in the past several years (whether he knows it or not). I only hope someone will want the stuff I paint. Erin, how much time can we have to paint up something for the auction. Not all of us paint with JesterSpeed. TS
Lorderl
Erin, how much time can we have to paint up something for the auction. Not all of us paint with JesterSpeed. TS I'm in as well I asked her a similiar question and there is really no time frame atm. ERL
cutebutpsycho
As I've been saying as people have asked-no set time frame. Figure we have at least a month before bills start arriving. Now, that doesn't mean I want to drag this out until Christmas, so the sooner the better, but I'd say until Reapercon maybe? Thanks to everyone who has responded! Kheprera
I'm in. Let me go through my minis. I know I have some very old minis, OOP ones (from late 70's and early 80's) as well as some limited editions I might be willing to part with for Jester. I may even decide to part with one of my OOP dragons. I do have a Huma's Silver, assembled (it's one of the ones with the gems in the eyes) that, painted, would probably help a lot. I also have a Huma unassembled. Let me go through my collection. We'll see what we can do.
cutebutpsycho
Okay, I JUST got home from the hospital visiting Jester. The Mrs. insisted that I should tell him now before he finds out on his own, so I did. He now knows about Project Jester and is VERY touched and thanks everyone for their well wishes and keeping him in their thought. Thanks to everyone in advance! I'll let you all know when the website goes live.
Evilbob
This is really a great thing. I've already started going through my minis to see what I can put a Jester worthy paint job on.

ixminis
I had a few minutes to smooth this one out a bit (linked for nudity). If I can finish it up this weekend, do you want it for the auctions? I was going to put it on a wood base with some sort of a modelled carpet. I think I need to highlight her lips a bit more, but otherwise think she'd do ok to raise some $$$... yes/no? Okee,
