cutebutpsycho
Okay, I'm looking for advice. Now, I've ebayed a lot over the past 8+ years, but I know some of you have more expertise than I do, so I thought I'd seek advice. How much do I start the auctions at? This is for Jester, so I want people to bid. My feel is either 9.99 or .99 depending on the item. Does that sound reasonable? Do you have any other random advice for me? I'm willing to accept it. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Lorderl
I would not go below $9.99 starting bid, this would allow for early bids to join in and also if by chance the auction doesn't do well you'll at least get the opening bid, that said I feel an opening bid of $14.99 - $24.99 for a standard mini is much better as this is not your standard auction and any serious bidders will expect to pay a bit more to help out. I really won't expect to see any of the minis that go up to sell for less than $19.99, so if there's money to be saved from insertion fees than opening the bids at .99 is ok, it highly unlikely that it won't do well... unless of course the mini in question is an invisible stalker...lol thou with ebay that may sell for the most money ERL
Kheprera
It depends on the mini. If it's OOP, rare, and highly desired, then it should be listed for more than something that is more common. If it's a larger mini, price it a bit higher. I'd start them maybe at 9.99 for a single figure with a basic base, painted, and go up to maybe 19.99 for a painted and based dragon. It's going to be a hard decision, but if you want to start them all at one price, then 9.99 would be a good choice with hopes that some of them will go for the prices they are actually worth (such as an OOP WoTC Black going for $150, unpainted). Just my two cents.
Dragon Snack
I would start them all at .99 and save on the fees. I'm sure there are enough people looking to help out that everything will go for a good price. ...When did the OoP WotC Black go for $150? I've listed mine 3 times in the past couple of years and nobody bid at $100...

Sergeant_Crunch
Well, another thing is she'll be receiving a prepped and primed miniature that has yet to see full production from me (AICOM grunt). How do you set a price on something like that which doesn't have an MSRP to begin with?

kristof65
Erin - please check your inbox for a PM from me. Uh oh! Erin's in trouble for using SoonTM On to the real question - are you looking just for minis, or for anything game related, or even broader? cutebutpsycho
Think of anything you would see at a con-that's what I'm going for. I basically want to keep it all thematic so I hit what the audience is looking for and I don't clog up their searches with something like "authentic rhinestone dog collar!" And yes, I'm in trouble for Soon . I'm going to have to pay royalties

I got mine, new in the box (this is the mini from h e -ick-ick) for about thirty, but several weeks later I saw it jump to well over $100 on a couple of auctions. This was probably about four years or so ago. Maybe three. It was before my son was born.
