Sorry I was out of town. This by the way is my 1000th post.

Susan opens the door partially and then swings it open with a pleased shout of "Arthur it's you!" She throws herself into his arms. The man looks like Arthur Cornthwaite and as he is pulled into the library by Susan he is laughing with relief. When Arthur notices you he stops laughing and says, "Hello everyone, what is happening that brings us to meet in a Library at midnight?"

Toth lowers the shotgun a bit, so that if he has to shoot, it will not hit Susan. He reaches into his pocket and comes out with his identification, holding it toward the newcomer. "My name is Toth Gamor, sir. I am an agent of the government. If you would please step inside and close the door, and then provide us with proof that you are who you seem to be, I will not be forced to blow your legs off."

This will be an interlude of sorts.

You have accomplished job one wnich was to find Arthur Cornthwaite. He has just shown up out of the night. What lies ahead is a choice. Through the night you share stories with Arthur. He is not surprised by the living dead or the crystal skull. In fact, he has a strange tale of his own. He has been to another world. You believe he has been somewhere but his story of dinosaurs and wars with non human things are a bit hard to take on. He can prove it of you come along with him. He plans to return with the skull and two or three companions. But the choice is yours at this stage you can report that Arthur is alive and well and preparing for another trip and walk away.

"Art," Ray says leaning back in the chair thinking over the tale he's just heard, "I've known you for awhile now and this has to be the strangest thing that I've ever heard cominf out of your mouth, and that's saying something. Now taking into account the fact that I've just gone up against a few things that shouldn't exist has broadened my mind you might say. Now I'm willing to give you the opportunity to make good on these stroies you've been spouting off but just in case you might, I and have to stress might, be right I think it wouldn't hurt to get a little better prepared before heading off this time."

Ray turns to give a sidelong glance at Toth to see what his reaction is.

Toth listens to Cornthwaite's story with no expression on his face. He simply looks as if he is storing data to be processed when all items have been collected. When his story is finished, he is silent for a bit, his brow furrowed and his lips pursed as he tries to sort out the best course of action.

His eyes come up and his face clears as he comes to a decision. "I agree with Ray. Too many strange things have been happening around here, and bear further investigation. I am willing to travel with you, Mr. Cornthwaite, but first, I need to contact Mr. Kolchak and my superiors to inform them that you have been found. And we need to take a little time to rest and equip ourselves."

Excellent. Again I had to go out of town but I have been preparing some of the adventure items.

Here is the preliminary information. A large group goes back to the Cornthwaite Manor. Nothing ambulatory remains. Arthur hires twenty men and women from a nearby University to work on preparation, clean the house and stand guard. They think they are setting up for an archaeological expedition. A week passes with telegraph messages and meetings with lawyers taking up quite a bit of time. It is decided that an article will be published on Cornthwaite with a suggestion that a bigger story will follow. Three more weeks pass getting prepared for a warm weather adventure. The story is released that you will be going to Central America. You know that you will be going into the mound. You practise with hunting rifles capable of killing elephants. You learn some basics of first aid, some survival skills and read up on paleontology and strange mythologies. (Increasing skill in the mentioned basics and Cthulhu Mythos). And in Late March 1925 you are ready to go.

Later I will give you a list of the basic gear you will be carrying. But as a month is going by you may have some things you wish to do.

As they are going into the jungle, Toth will spend the month working on various survival skills (Hide, Sneak, Spot Hidden, and Tracking) in his free time. He will also try and get better with his shotgun and pistol in addition to the rifle training.

Well I managed to resolve my work related problems. I really don't care for office politics but I did well in this interchange. Enough on that.

Late March 1925, Cornthwaite Manor Night has fallen on a gloomy overcast day. The gloom of the weather has done little to overshadow the excitement and perhaps fear that tomorrow is the day. Telegraphs have been sent and preparations made. At first light a cavalcade will depart from the Cornthwaite home and drive through town. This group of trustworthy folks is a decoy, and you understand they will pretend to be you all the way to Galveston where they will board a yacht and "depart" for Central America.

Meanwhile at around noon you, Susan, Arthur and three camp assistants will march to the mound and begin to explore a new world. The goal of finding the secret of a strange artifact still seems a bit insane but the knowledge that adventure and wealth will result from the voyage has kept the journey on track. The plan as so far discussed relies on Arthur's first hand knowledge of the "alternate dimension". You will march for about five hours from the portal to ruins on a plateau. Set up camp and begin looking for a place called "Thasuaga". But the first week will be about getting used to your surroundings. Saying that you will be seeing dinosaurs is not the same as actually having it occur.

********

Equipment that you will have:

Backpack: 6 foot by six foot canvass tarp with eyelets, bedroll-two thin blankets and towel, 25 feet of rope, sandles, two sets undergarments, pants, shirt, rain poncho, hat, canteen-16 oz, five candles and box of 100 waterproof matches, small wooden box with salt, sugar and pepper containers, notebook, five pencils, pen knife and one electric torch, box of 50 rounds for the pistol.

One heavy rifle with shoulder strap, ammo bandolier with 50 rounds.

Belt with machete, pistol and 18 rounds for pistol

Food kit bag-pound of hard crackers, salted meat in tins, pound of coffee, small pan, plate, cup.

You are carrying more on the march than will be expected when you are exploring. You can add up to 15 pounds of gear, there will be a cache of ammo and fresh food at the eventual camp site. Your three camp assistants are very experienced explorer types. You can also chose the calibre of your rifle and pistol, default is 30-06 bolt action and .45 revolver.

Toth will opt for a pair of stout boots instead of the sandals, his shotgun instead of the rifle, his 1911 Colt automatic, and a pair of field glasses if he can get them.

Toth looks around at his companions as they are getting ready for the journey-tightening straps, running through lists, etc. Good luck to us all, he thinks, as he checks the load in his pistol for the last time.
