"That, Mr. Bullick, is a fine example of a whatthe@#!&," Toth whispers back. He is still shaking off the effects of just seeing the thing, and takes a moment to calm down. "We're going to help the camp, but we need to stay alive to do so. Follow me, as quietly as you can."

Staying in a crouch, Toth begins to circle around to the thing's right, giving it a wide berth (30 feet, at least), and moving as silently as possible. Outwardly, he is calm and in control, his face blank and cold as ice. Internally, though, is a different story.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!, is what he is thinking at this particular moment.

The gunfire stopped within minutes of your encounter with the thing. You move carefully through the woods which are strangely quiet. The rustling you make as you move through the undergrowth seems thunderously loud. After an indeterminate time of tense stalking you stand in the camp. There are shell casings everywhere. The tents are mauled and torn. There is blood and a foul smelling ichor pooled in various places. But no bodies anywhere. The camp has become an abandonned battlefield. It is the unnatural quiet that allows you to hear a disturbance. From some distance away you hear a shout or scream from a human being. Glancing in the direction of the sound you can see a trampled path leading into the woods. And then you hear a disturbance in woods near camp. Something or possibly more than one thing is coming through the brush toward camp. You hear a voice call out, "Is any one there, we need some help?!"

Four men emerge from the woods. You recognize them, though you don't remember names. One is limping badly and two are supporting a third who seems to be nearly catatonic. As you did not call out the men do not notice you. They curse as they look at the carnage.

I am sure you guessed that things have gone a bit haywire. I hate to leave things open ended so I'll through an ending at this game. Sorry but things are rough right now.

Even as the men begin to reply you all turn toward a whitling sound. All of you begin to scatter as canisters of gas begin to fall around you. Your panic is short lived as sleep descends on you with an inhalation of sweet smelling gas. You awaken in Bedford Falls. You have been "rescued" by Savate Industries. With a stipend of 1000 dollars you are released to return to your lives. Admonished by a well dressed lawyer to go on to other business and leave this particular business to others.

So your characters survive. The story was that you were going to be finding a lost temple in a prehistoric world where and ancient serpent man had hidden a weapon. In the wings waited a hero built along the lines of Doc Savage to be a point of contact for future adventures. However, events in my life are taking precedence over computer entertainment at this time. Thanks for playing though!
