Nanite
These were two finished Despot tanks, now they're a mess. My mistake? Tamiya Flat Base, does not equal Flat Clear. Or Flat Sealer.
Prophet
Well, on the brighter side of it, now they just look really weathered.
All-Terrain Monkey
Great weathering for tanks in a snowy environment with salted roads! But yeah, that is a bummer Nanite. I always spray my Dull Cote off-mini first, every time, after the one and only time I wasn't watching and grabbed my primer instead of it. Qwyksilver
Great weathering for tanks in a snowy environment with salted roads! Didn't even see that when I first saw these. It does look like the side of my truck currently
Brother Jim
I don't think those are Despots. Aren't Despots looking like an M-1 Abrams with a missile launcher on the back of the turret ??
tabascojunkie
Hit them with a layer of gloss and it will fix the snowy look. But then you'll have to use a Dullcote after that dries. A lot of scale modelers use a mix of Tamiya Flat Base and Future Floor Polish as a flat coat, with a finish that gets less flat and more glossy the more Future you add into the mix. I've experimented with it but never had any luck.
garm
They look like Malfactors, not to nit pick Nanite. Hit them with the clear for a snow effect or maybe try a wash to darken it back out?
Nanite
Your right, they are Malefactors! My brain problems continue... Unfortunantly I wasn't trying for a snowy force, but that is a good suggestion, and now at least I have a technique for it!
All-Terrain Monkey
What can I say, Nanite; I'm good at making lemonade.
Mengu
Those tanks look like they've been through our streets recently. They match the camo on every other dark color vehicle around here...
Bilesuck
It looks like my pickup, stupid salt
mattmcl
I did EXACTLY the same thing to the first five minis I painted. Don't feel bad.
