GTA San Andreas, run around with the rocket launcher blowing up cars ::D: Or see how my driving in the game deteriorates as I drink more beer.

Meeemmories...

Now all I've got is Civ 3. While it's fun to subjugate other civilizations, it's not as immediately rewarding as taking an AK-47 to passing traffic while crouching underneath the overpass outside of the casino.

I go and hug my daughter.

It's amazing how I can have a totally horrible day at work, and then I come home, and see my wife in the window holding Erin, and Erin is just shaknig in excitement because she now recognizes my truck and sees me in the parking lot. Then I go upstairs, and she races on her hands and knees (since she's not quite walking and there's not enough furniture near the door to walk along) to meet me at the door, pulls herself up my leg and starts panting like a puppy and shakes until I pick her up. Then she gives me a huge smile and a hug.

And everything goes away.

Before Erin came along, I'd usually go sit down and relax with a book, take a nap, or take a shower so hot it's practically scalding. Really anything that will help reduce either the mental or physical responses to stress.

I go for a long walk along the Erie Canal.

Like today, for example. In five minutes.

I've got an old mule and her name is Sal

Fifteen miles on the Erie Canal

She's a good old worker and a good old pal

Fifteen miles on the Erie Canal

We've hauled some barges in our day

Filled with lumber, coal, and hay

And every inch of the way we know

From Albany to Buffalo

Chorus:

Low bridge, everybody down

Low bridge for we're coming to a town

And you'll always know your neighbor

And you'll always know your pal

If you've ever navigated on the Erie Canal

We'd better get along on our way, old gal

Fifteen miles on the Erie Canal

'Cause you bet your life I'd never part with Sal

Fifteen miles on the Erie Canal

Git up there mule, here comes a lock

We'll make Rome 'bout six o'clock

One more trip and back we'll go

Right back home to Buffalo

Chorus

I've got an old mule and her name is Sal

Fifteen miles on the Erie Canal...

BLAH

BLAH

I hate you.

My wife does this song with her students so she knows it by heart. Every time we drive to Ohio from Mass she feels the need to sing this at least a couple times from New York through Penn and into Ohio since we do the Northern Rochester route usually. And it gets burned into my brain usually for a week or two after the trip.

And I've been humming this for about 4 hours now.

I hate you.

The buggers at the Canal Corporation finally after five years I've been here put up signs saying that people who climb on the dropgates will be persecuted.

Prosecuted, sorry.

This is where the canal crosses the Genesee River, which is three blocks from my house. I've watched airshows from on top of those gates. Raarhr...litigation-conscious poopyheads...

I tend to kill things, in guild wars solo farming because I get frustrated running around with a group, they just don't respond as fast as AI henchmen with no minds of their own....

I'm the opposite. If I need someone watching my back, I'd rather have a person than an AI that's going to get distracted by the nearest shiny thing. Especially if I'm going to be randomly killing video people and grabbing the attention of the local police...and SWAT...and National Guard.

Besides, the wife can hit nearly anything with a single shot.

The family that plays together...

Some really bad burn-out days, I just wanna get home and have a scotch or a beer or some wine. Anything with alcohol.

Now that it's warming up, my wife and kids are often outside when I get home (I usu. walk the approx 3/4 mile from the subway station). When my oldest daughter (almost 4) sees me, she yells "Daddy!" and runs like the wind straight for me, smiling from ear to ear. When I pick her up, I toss her in the air and catch her while she laughs and laughs. Suddenly I don't need a drink as much as I thought I did.

Oh We play together too, just when I'm having a bad day I tend to like to be alone... Matter of fact I am much looking forward to this evenings game, (every other thursday) alot of mature players with mature content, it's great... Sunday game is fun but it's alot of newish players and hack and slash.
