M. Eversberg II
I was mentioned here in some recent post, so I checked it out. Interesting film. I haven't see a great deal of fantasy films, (LotR, Conan, and the most recent DnD film involving some girl in gold armour) but it was ... interesting. M. zepgodiria
Willow is one of my all time favorite movies. I saw it when it first came out and absolutely loved it. I think its what got me into fantasy. I love the two headed dragon mutated from a troll!
Voladilk
I liked it. I have it on DVD now. It was a pretty good film for the time it was done and it made it mostly mainstream so many people got to see it. I thought it was a good blend of magic and non-magic fantasy. Qwyksilver
The fella that played Willow was also Wicket in Return of the Jedi. I loved Willow. I remember seeing it in the theatre, and usually watch it every couple of years. "I'll win this war for you!"
Darthiir
yeah, i loved willow too. but then again, i'm old and the f/x compared to newer movies is going to get poo-pooed by many younger viewers. still won't keep me from watching it though. Qwyksilver
I actually prefer the old FX. People had to focus more on the story and characters. Now, too many movies are about cramming in the latest and greatest CGI effects and hoping these flash bangs keep the audience's attention away from the fact that the story is some re-hashed dribble from the 70's and 80's. They are remaking Teen Wolf for heaven's sake!!! Tom Welling (Smallville) is earmarked to play Michael J. Fox's character.

mooseyjoe
I was born in 1988 and willow is still one of my favorite movies. Don't worry, not all hope is lost for my generation. There will come a time when realism and good acting once again become more important than cgi effects.
ladystorm
The fella that played Willow was also Wicket in Return of the Jedi. Warwick Davis has done a ton of stuff including Harry Potter's Professor Flitwick and the lead Goblin Bank teller.
haldir
I remember Willow good film but wasn't it basically Star Wars in fantasy form thou?? gotta agree with the newer CGI vs old FX stuff thou, but there are some films with heavy cgi that still have good stories to them, Pirates is one, as was LOTR but then again they weren't rehashes. hopin Transformers doesn't get lost in the ooooo ahhhh cgi effects of the robots RM

That movie was destinied for failure. Somewhere along the line they decided they wanted to prove that you could make a good fantasy film without spending millions in lots of FX, so instead they blew the budget on a few FX. Sad state of affairs in movies today.
styates
someone please kill me. it wasn't bad enough when they did part 2 with justin bateman? Not to nitpick, but it was actually Jason Bateman in Teen Wolf Too, not his SISTER Justine!! As for Willow, I too love it and actually consider it to be one of Val Kilmer's better roles. It's a fun movie with lots of action and humor and fairly good (if dated) special effects.
M. Eversberg II
Oh, I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever again complain about crappy Special Effects -- I've seen Darkest Knight. On the whole it was a good movie. I took a quick glance at the wiki and it said it had a large number of similarities with "The Hobbit" but IIRC The Hobbit was about a halfling going on an adventure to get some treasure back from a Dragon that belonged to some dwarves...there wasn't any of that in Willow...
