Wayne Rogers
Kublacon has an exciting line-up for this years Mini-Painting Events! Come on out to the San Francisco Bay area this Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-28, to enjoy California's premiere gaming convention. The Paint'n'Take tables will be open all four days. Come sit a spell, and try your hand at painting a miniature supplied by the best manufacturers in the industry. Featured paints include Reaper Master Series, P3, and GW Foundation. For fun and prizes, join in on the many Speedpainting Contests. The top winners of each contest are also invited back for a Master-Class Speedpainting Contest on Sunday evening. Are you the `fastest brush in the West?" This year boasts a full schedule of Seminars to help you master your skills at mini-painting. Professional sculptor, Matt Gubser, is teaching three sculpting classes, covering such topics as "sculpting faces", "secrets of epoxy putty", and "dragons". Famed painters, such as Finn Kisch, Derek Schubert, and Laszlo Jakusovszky, will be teaching their techniques for NMM, blending, and basing. Other highlighted classes will cover face-painting, and army-painting. Submit your entries in this years KublaAwards Mini-Painting Competition. Categories include Single, Squad, and Large for the genres of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Historical. Special categories for KublaKids, and Best Conversion. New this year are manufacturer-specific awards from Reaper, Games Workshop, and Privateer Press. The awards ceremony features screen-projection of the winning entries as the winners claim their KublaAwards trophies. All entries are proudly featured in the Kublacon Online Gallery: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kublacon/sets/ Pick up a special edition Kubla mini, sculpted by Matt Gubser, and available only at Kublacon.
