New pics, shaded metallics

Heya all,

I finally got around to posting pics of Wolfie (the Lupine Lord) and his Shaman companion.  Wolfie has shaded metallics (the NMM way) on his sword blade, and shaded metallics (much more general) on his other armor.  The color progression is:  Gunmetal with some black added, Gunmetal, Gunmetal with silver added.  Some places have a little thinned pure silver, and the blade highlight goes up all the way to white (a very thin line of it).

I absolutely Love the Shaman!  That has got to be one of the best wolves I've seen!  The metal on the Commander looks (in places, like his thighs) almost like NMM.  I may have to blow the dust off my metallic paints and try out the technique!   ???

Masterful work, thanks for sharing!

I like the shaded metals. I do some of that on my figures, but not nearly as many gradations as you do. I typically do the highest highlight in platinum (I use FA metallics) rather than white, but I have some metallic white I could try out next time...

That's really cool!

I've been tinkering with this technique a little on some of my figures, but I'm not really good at placing light source and such.  Nor do I use as many gradations as mentioned before.  But practice makes perfect as they say.

I really like the shaman.  I started mine but didn't like how he was turning out so he took a simple green bath.  Now he's clean and primed, waiting for me to choose a color scheme.

Does anyone know of any sites with good wolf pics?

The shaded metallics is utterly awesome!  I much prefer this over the straight NMM.  THe shaman is a beauticious model as well!
