Reaperbryan
Discuss factions, builds, and how to crush your foes mightily in this thread!
joshuaslater
I'm putting together a force of Cultists, Dark Dwarves, the Evil Cleric (what'shername?) Jos Gebblar, Boris Mingla, and hopefully some OGRES!!! I'll post the list after I go through all the new cards. Looking forward to playing these guys, and getting more sculpts of the Cultists and Dark Dwarves.
Warwick
I would love to discuss how to crush my enemies with a wonderful Merc army...but since I don't know how to build one I have little to say. I know the KJ will update all of this. That's little aid when I am deep in prep for ReaperCon. My Mercs will sit idle. Until I know from Reaper if I can have Orba leading some Bowsisters and Lupines and still get my Scoundral's Luck re-rolls, I'll play something else. I am very frustrated over this issue. Mercs are feeling left out of all the new goodness and love. Mercs were a viable and unique army. I don't know what they are now.
joshuaslater
Sounds like it's own post under Warlord General--Inquiring minds want to know, I think is the title. I'll bet you'll have an answer before the con, if you just ask Reaper.
LTurner
As far as I know, you can still field Orba's army with any mercenary units you want as long as you use Orba, and don't mix good/evil mercs together. That is until the KJ says otherwise.
lonelymonk
Are there any plans to give merc's a list with a faction ability?
vejlin
They already have that. It's in the rule book.

Tannhauser
Well, thanks to ReaperCon and the ability to buy models by the pound (although "kilo" might be a better term, for various reasons ), I now have a full Bladesister army. I'll post later with list ideas.
Warwick
We had a chance to playtest the beta rules for the 2007 updates on Warlord, except the Mercs, who didn't get new rules. Before the Krugar's Journal hits, can we few, we elite, we Merc players get a chance to playtest the new Merc rules? I have plenty of models from the four factions (when there were four factions), all four Warlords, and I'm ready to go to war and get paid. I'm ready to ditch the other armies (mere playthings while the Mercs waited patietly for rules). ReaperCon is over, the updates are done, KJ is on the horizon...please. Give the hardcore Merc players a bone. And if they are too busy let me write the Merc Handbook and I'll be happy.
Tannhauser
OK, I just noticed that the Bladesisters got a new solo, Nalada. However, I don't understand why she is a solo instead of a hero. Most solos I've seen tend to have something that makes them stand out, makes them special, makes them say "look at me, I'm cool enough to be by myself!" But Nalada doesn't seem special enough to me to be a solo. So what am I missing here?
wildbill
I have a girl that comes most every week to play, and she is all about the Sisters faction. Now that they recently changed the rules so that any of the Merc warlords can use the Change of Heart ability, I figured I would try to make an all-female army for my player. I used Change of Heart on the Shieldmaidens. What does everyone think? Samantha + GMA Olivia + Holy Symbol + 4 Cure2 6 Shieldmaidens Musician Marda 3 Bowsisters Musician Kassandra 4 Shadowsisters Musician Nicole 4 Bladesisters Musician Total: 1,498 Points, 22 Models, 4 Troops, 5 Init Cards Wild Bill
ecs05norway
On a random note, it appears that the reprinted FAs no longer require one to field Orba Sinhan in order to use the Scoundrel's Luck and Change of Heart FAs....

That way you could control the flow of models to the SSs. PS
rgtriplec
I was going through my mercs and was thinking how I really liked how the Hanged, Sisters and Lupine grunts/adepts match certain leaders. This is the rule in those sub-faction it seems and adds a lot of character. but the Sinhan do not have this type uniformity of little units. Actually they only have one leader and grunt that match - the ronins. Although the Lupines definitely need about ten models. I think the Sinhan need five or six. I know they have the most already but the other sub-factions were cherry picked out and the leftover mismatch became the Sinhan. Here is my wish list. Each would be fairly equivalent to their mirror in both stats and cost. A Minotaur leader. 90 points A Viking adept with Shock for Sigurd. 49 A barbarian adept for Grundor with Fearless. * They could even re-produce Janna as a grunt. 31 An Amazon adept for Artimis that was a Ranger with ranger and reach. 49 A Halfling rogue adept for Dingo with Backstab/2 and range. 25 I could see making this more expensive with the addition of a new SA Sneak. Sneak/# would allow a model that was in B2B to pass through another model, to Sneak by them. It would work the same as Raider. It would be free with your movement action but if you failed you would have to return to the point where you started your move and forfeit your non-combat action. You could start your move while B2B or you could move into B2B. The last one would be the least important. It would be Captain of the Sinhan, who would be made in the likeness of the generic merc soldiers.
