Shakandara
Nice list, but try this swap sometime. Proxy Chai as Audt, and drop the magic weapon. Use the extra points to proxy the Krung as the Dragon Turtle instead. The Krung is nice, but when I'm bringing just one solo lately, I try to bring the Turtle. The DV for his first *3* tracks is better than the Krung's first track, and his MAV 8 and Mov 8 carry over the first 3 tracks as well. The altered list comes in at 747 points. ~v

Autochton
Proxy Chai as Audt, and drop the magic weapon. Use the extra points to proxy the Krung as the Dragon Turtle instead. That actually sounds like a pretty good idea, all told. I'll keep that one in mind (to the detriment of the foes of the Jade Empire! Death to the smooth-skins! )
Shakandara
I've been using variations on a theme of this lately for 750 point games, and my opponents hate me for it. As long as I keep the DT from being mobbed, all those damage tracks, the great MAV and the high DV make him a living terror on my foes. They cringe every time I drop the Krung down and tell them he's the proxy for the DT. ~v

Outkast Samurai
That's the DT that I field. Not a bad looking mini at all either. That's a solid list Auto, and one I know you'll have fun running. One of the things that you'll find out early on is the lack of Tough on most of your troops. I would suggest a nice helping of Warriors as your next buy with Audt as well. This will give you a good variety to mix and match so you can try out a few variations. Good luck and welcome to the swamp.
shakhak
Anyone have some good suggestions for a flying troop or two in a 1500 game? I'm looking for some advice on what to put in it and how to use them.
Hellsgate
*pops head in* Yep i'm still alive... Welcome to you Autochton. I near always take a full unit of 5 Gaan-Hor warriors with the clan eldar at 377pts. Keap them airborn as often as posable, mob anything with a large base (preferable away from the main army) 18 mav 5 (+3 sup) attacks will drop alot of things pritty fast. The moment it's dropped get back into the air and use something cheep and fast to cdg (coatls come to mind ). Once all the nicer targets are gone either fly them to whereever neads some cleaning up, or drop them all round something nice a squishy ing the middle of your opponents for a final sucide run. ...bugger, i started rambleing again. Feanor
Does this seem like a solid all comers list to everyone? Chai Uut magic armor 94 4 warriors 180 1 archer 46 1 nagendra warrior 35 Pakpao Familiar Counter spell Bolt bolt fireball 126 Troll outrider 87 Chai Uut magic armor 94 2 archers 92 3 warriors 135 Tkay familiar Bless cure 2 107 total 996 points would you use his in a thousand point tourney that prolly includes dwarves, elves, crusaders, overlords, darkspawn and other reptus? Stubbdog
Shakak, I don't have my Army Builder on this computer so I cant actually build a list to the point at the moment, but I can say that the broodmaster surrounded by 8-10 Coatls, along with a bunch of skull breakers mixed with raptors on the ground side make for an effective combo. Feanor, tough call, I am sure that list will work on something, but i think it will have more that it wont work against at the moment. I would swap your mage spells to stuns, drop at least one of the archers and upgrade your warriors to skullbreakers with their extra punch. drop the cure in lew of mor blesses. Feanor
Thanks Stubbdog, Reptus really are not my thing. I'm trying to help a friend out. I biult this list as something that would hamper me as an elf. I'll play around with your advice and see what I come up with.
Stubbdog
well, see opponents definitely make a differrence. if you and him will be playing agastineach other and you play elf, then yes warriors are a better option with their higher deflect and armor. scotty kahn
Hey, I'm pretty new to Warlord and was wondering if you guys would help me build a decent 1000 point list. The people I play against regularly are a Necropolis player, Dwarves, Crusaders, and Korborlas. I havent had too much trouble with the dwarves or lupines as of yet, but its only been a few games so far. The biggest trouble I have is with the necropolis players crimson knights, I played against him last night and by the third turn his crimson knights had killed Uru, Nai khanon, chai uut, and my warriors that chai was leading. In return I had killed two of his knights, about 4 skeletons and about the same in spectral minions. Here was the list I used Troop 1 Khong-To (greater magic weapon) Nai khanon 4 warriors Troop 2 Chai uut T- kay(with 3 cure 2's) 2 warriors 3 archers Troop 3 Uru as a solo. I've got 3 more warriors, ssudai, and an extra river troll. So, am I going about my list all wrong or is it just a learning curve? What might you do differentley? Stubbdog
Scotty, Not knowing exactly what you were facing or the table conditions in which you faced them makes it hard for me to comment on your list. That is a decent list. But, I can offer a few generalities that help me. 1. If you dont have all the models that you want to play, dont worry, just proxy. Don't llimit your builds only based on the actual models you have. 2. Don't forget your faction FA of being able to re-roll a single missed defensive strike. It can be a huge thing when taking on the crimsons. 3. Personally, I find if I am gonna use a cleric, I use it more for blessing and envigorating my other models, or even a surprise teleport of a cool model into the opponents backfield (say to take out a mage). And if you are facing moandain i might bring pakpao with counterspell instead. 4. Try combinations that include: river trolls (equal strength to knights), raptors (disable to limit the knights warmaster), clutchlings (first strike and reach), breakers (mav) 5. Choose armor for khong-to rather than weapons. Even three swings are hard when you have to roll 10s, it takes +2 support before they go down to 9s. 6. have archers focus on small things rather than big, and usually one klahan is better than 2 archers. Klahan's critical shot at 9 hits moandain or those knights on a 4 . 7. You listed the spectral minions, which tells me that more likely an Moandain is present. one gaan han with a few cheap coatl make for a good fly over surround and take down. 8. Solos are good if the solo is right. Like the dragon turtle. Uru is decent but not great as a solo, I prefer a couple of raptors and something else in a troop than i do uru as a solo.
