Sci-fi models for Necromunda

Recommended Posts

I'd like to get a gang or two together to play Necromunda, The only problem is that I hate all of the models GW has for the gangs (not to mention they want $15 a pop for Spyrer figures). I checked through reaper and they dont have any scifi stuff that fits. Does anybody know of a company that has good scifi models for decent prices, and that I can get here in the US?

Thanks

Shadowforge is actually an Australian company, they make all-female models -- primarily Blood Bowl teams, but a wide variety of others as well. They make a set of "Special Forces" sci-fi soldiers, for example, that might work for you, and are bringing back their "ganger" line as well. You can order them through The War Store in the US, or direct from Shadowforge's website, they ship via cheap airmail (about $8 per package).

Urban Mammoth's 'Urban War' line has some very nice figures, as does the Void 1.1 line it's based on. The latter is often findable on ebay, and is being made available again from a subcontractor... don't have all the details on this yet, but again you can order through War Store, I believe.

Void 1.1 is available thanks to casting contract kindly granted to Scotia-grendel. http://www.scotiagrendel.com/ This should also mean that many of the VOID1.1 miniatures will be available through Mega Miniatures http://www.megaminis.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc who also sell Fenryll resin-cast miniatures, some of which are sci-fi.

Copplestone Castings Future Wars is available thru the Warstore using this link: http://www.thewarstore.com/COPPLESTONEAdve...Miniatures.html you can also check out Foundry's Street Violence, Gangs of Megacity One, Rezolution, and Infinity: http://www.thewarstore.com/

Also worth a look either for Necromunda or for a Necromunda-style small squad campaign (the campaign is, I hear, shorter and has a definite winner) you could look at Alpha Forge Games at this weird address: http://www.sausage200.shoppingcartsplus.com/homepage.html

Oh, I almost forgot, Iron Wind Metals might have some bits and pieces you'll find useful.

http://www.ironwindmetals.com/catalog/index.php the Vor: The Maelstrom line is a wargaming line but some of the Neo-Soviet mutants and monsters might work well for some gangs or characters.

Don't forget Alphaforgegames.com

The star mogul salvage crews should fit well.

I thank everyone for the links and info. I decided to go with the large Urban war Gladiator box (the $70 I think). They fit the kind of gang look I want plus I have some Viridian miniatures so now I can give demos! I would have used the Viridians straight off but they just dont look like gang members to me. May use them for an enforcer squad.

I dunno man, the newer Necromunda stuff is hot and it's really customizable. The Orlocks are a realy nice one to start out with, and they have loads of options. You can also score extra weapons from GW mail order.

Haven't checked the cost in a while, but the GW Imperial Guard Tallarn mini's make decent gang members, too.
