@HumanSquish and anyone else that thought I meant new models.

I mean that I want a new ability to use the tokens on.

I didn't know that that was what you were trying to say. While a neat idea I think it would make Paincage too powerful. Would have to playtest to be sure though.

Overlords

Followers of Khardullis Sub list - I played against this sub list the other day and I feel it's missing something. I think that "Do Your Duty" for this sub list should be revamped to allow a model within 2" of target Leader or Elite, but kept the same for the Default list.

Reven

Default - Everything looks ok but "Mob Mentality" doesn't seem to be affective anymore because when moving in B2B with a model when is a discipline check needed? When the model is fearsome? That's not a big deal anymore b/c I'd rather have a risk to become shaken and have a better FA.

Bull Orc (Tomukh) Sublist - Warcry isn't as effective, but Enrage makes up for now since models are multiple damage tracks.

Noghra (Goblin) Sublist - "Mob Mentality" once again...

Overlords:

Did your opponent include Warbrides in nearly every troop possible as ELite choices? I think this would make a huge difference, granting the free musician and standard items.

Reven:

Many Many models in this game have fearsome, fearsome requires that you make a discipline check for making B2B contact with an enemy model, or you suffer a shaken token (unlike previous editions where you couldn't base the target). Mob Mentality is still used in this situation, very useful.

Great Reven and the Goblin sublist's FA's are crappy. Bull Orks are just about perfect.

I am presuming this comes with extensive play with both Faction sublists.

With Sgt having troop sizes of 5, and Captains 8, Leaders gaining Mob/+2 and Mob/+5 is HUGE in the numbers game when you are playing horde armies.

There are 81 models with Fearsome. I'll take Mob Mentality any day. It used to only work on Horrid and Empowered Models, and even then it was useful. Now it's about 4 times as useful.

I'll take a Great Reven force against a Tomuhk force any day, and I wager I'd win at least as many times as I lost. The Bull Orcs are not the power list they once were, still very cool, but very vulnerable to alot of tactics considering their low DV, and low Discipline combined with their fairly hefty points costs. They work very well in conjunction with Orcs and Goblins where you can but a half dozen Bull Orcs in a unit with a half dozen Orcs. 12-14 models is Warlord sized troops, and Great Reven have Sergeants and Captains that can field those numbers.

So what if your Bull Orc enrages and kills my Orc Warrior? For the Price of your Bull Orc I still have 2 more lesser Orcs to step up. And Warcry? You can't warcry if I CdG you, and with 40-50 models on the field I'm sure I can spare a few loot actions.

I play default Reven and Bulls quite a bit. Bulls are probably my favorite army and I currently play Dwarfs, Elves, Reven, Bulls, and I have fieldable forces of Hanged, Sinhan, Crusaders, Necropolis and Goblins. Goblins and orcs are paper warriors. They are getting killed by most anybody anyway. So yes it might be useful at face value but in the end it isn't very powerful because shaken or not they are going to last long. Those would be good FA or SAs for warriors that will last a couple rounds it's kind of wasted on the weakest models in the game. I'd trade it for a goblin with a spear or just make them Fearless.

Bulls are still very tough and will be even tougher with the improved Warcry.

Elves still need something to make up for their archers' nerfing.

Archers nerfing? They have sure shot and that makes up for everything.

Sure shot changed, but the new ability isn't necessarily better than the old one. It certainly doesn't compensate for losing an entire archery-related ability as well as the change in sure shot.

Perhaps elves' indirect shots could be modified to replace the lost volley rules?
