Cerridwyn1st
I guess you could say these are WIP, since the bases still need to be finished on some of them. Here's a group shot: Edited June 27, 2007 by Cerridwyn1st
Cerridwyn1st
Here's one of my troupers, Gauntfield: Flynn will probably pass out. It's a table top model, and (blasphemy!) it's even been played! Edited June 27, 2007 by Cerridwyn1st
Cerridwyn1st
This is the Leadership Model for the troup, Lord Gauren. I didn't want to do the normal "ghost" look with him being monochromatic. Instead, I wanted to give a look of the same colors he would have had in life, but faded. He is surrounded by mist, which flows around his coat, pants and boots. The coat is a darker blue than the mist, but to bring them together I used the same glaze as a shadow. I also make his skin very pale, but with dark recesses to make him look more gaunt and haunted. The mist curls around his legs, supporting him while giving the impression of a ghost, not a living person. Hope you guys like this. Again, it's a tabletop model, but I had fun playing with the colors. Edited June 27, 2007 by Cerridwyn1st
anvil
Those are beautifully painted, and a real joy to play against. My dwarves found them particularly tasty. On the other hand, could you submit the battle report, It keeps saying I haven't done it, even after trying several times.

Cerridwyn1st
A couple things I'd like to point out about the Wraith. I adapted the coloration from an article in "Cry Havoc!" on the Cynwyl Elves. Paint Sky Green in the deepest recesses, shade further with Oxford Blue, then highlight first with Ivory and then White. The skulls and rocks on the lower corner have a function, as well as being there for looks. The counter-balance the sythe and make the piece less likely to tip over. On the skelletons, I was tired of my usual black primer and bone dry-brush. On white primer, paint Ivory & stain with brown ink. Layer lighter shades of ivory. GreyHorde
Good, solid, well thought-out work all the way around. Good choices of colors to 'sell' the theme, making them a unique group, putting your own spin on them. You've also applied an interesting finish to the bases, too, with the sculpting/materials covering the outer shell. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd probably choose Gauntfield with his poison 'shrooms, but these are all really nice.
PurityThruFire
I love the wraith, I think it looks fantastic.
Cerridwyn1st
Thanks, guys. The wraith is my class subject for Gen Con. Start with the bare mini, basing materials, primer and paint. Walk out with a complete mini, or at least as much as we can get done in four hours. The idea is to introduce custom basing and some painting techniques, like glazing. That's great, I really wish I could be there for that. The wraith is a very cool looking mini, I think you did a fantastic job on the robe. slop_artist
Of course I like the undead... but I've always been a hopeless (nec)romantic.
