PurityThruFire
I'm in, October is good for me.
Whizard Hlavaz
At the moment, I'm all clear for the month of October, as far as weekends are concerned. Any recommendations for hotels in that area? Long drive, I'll likely stay the night in town. And what's the idea for this? All day event? Thanks. -Darin. dargrin
October seems clear to me as well. Someone just needs to give me a date, place and time.
ladystorm
if October, weekend of the 20-21 is the only one open for me.
Helltown
October 14-16 is a big no-go for me, Lorwyn release for Magic which means events all weekend. Otherwise the rest of the month seems clear from here. Just a reminder if we start looking at November, the first Saturday of the month is Worldwide Dungeons and Dragons Day so I don't think a lot of people will be availible. Mad Jack
As far as hotels for the CT thing, the whole area is riddled with them (damn the casinos, lol)... Unless it's closed up recently, there's a Best Western about two minutes down the road from The Citadel, but I'm not sure about the prices there... However, since it was put up B.C. (before casinos) the prices shouldn't be too bad... Scheduling conflicts shouldn't be a problem since a lot of the time the groups that occasionally use the space show up after the store closes... And it's a decent-sized space, too - the store's not all that big, but the gaming space is downstairs, pretty much the whole basement. ladystorm
Who is making the arrangements with the store?
Dilvish the Deliverer
I'll be glad to make the arrangements with the owner Pat. I talked to him when the first time came up and he had no issues then. Should I go ahead and tell him the weekend of the 20-21? Probably the Saturday. I'll get the hours that the store is open. As far as those wanting to make a stay of it, my new house has a largefinished down stairs and I have several comfy air matresses. So if someone wanted to spend money on mini instead of go to a hotel, I could put you up for the night. This offer of course has to be subject to my wife feeling that we are sufficently moved in enough so that she would not be embarased at having company for the night. Whizard Hlavaz
20-21st? I'm there! Confirmed. Thanks for the offer of lodging. I'll check out the hotels in the area and see how rates look and let you know. But I likely won't impose. Will we be painting both days or just one? How early can we arrive? And most importantly -- where's a good place to get dinner and a beer???
Dilvish the Deliverer
I am walking out the door after this post to set it up with Pat during my lunch. As far as dinner and a beer, what food do you desire? My personal local favorite is Paul's Pasta, a little hole in the wall pasta joint that makes their own pasta just before they throw it in the pot. Fancy? No. Cheap? Yes. Delicious? You betcha! Or there are steak, seafood, all you can eat buffets (casino's two within 20 minutes). As far as painting both days, I was thinking of Saturday, but I could stretch it into a weekend deal. I'll check that the space is available. I can also post a sign up on the board to pull in any other local painters that don't frequent these boards. It will give us a chance to infect, er convert, I mean show the superiority of the Reaper's product. Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket. dargrin
Oct 20-21 it is then. Barring death or illness I should be able to make it. We just need a time now. Time.....
Whizard Hlavaz
Doesn't need to be both days. I was just curious. But if I'm spending the night, I wouldn't mind throwing paint the next morning, either. After some eggses. And I'll eat whatever. I was just looking for suggestions from the natives. You'd know best, after all.
PurityThruFire
Oct. 20 -21, you can count me in. Chances are I can commute both days, it's not too bad of a trip. It's certainly worth it to meet everyone, hang out, paint and possibly game (only thing is I don't play Warlord, only Warmachine).
