Sergeant_Crunch
I'm looking at picking these up at the end of the month as a birthday present to myself, anyone here play it? I'm looking for some 28mm sci-fi besides 40k and AICOM doesn't seem to be coming anytime Soon. I'd go for Defiance, but according to what I've seen on TMP 5150 seems to play pretty quickly and can be played solo easily (two big considerations for me). If I like 5150 I'll probably pick up All Things Zombie as well. (Finally saw Shaun of the Dead and I'm on a zombie kick now ) Any insights on 5150 or ATZ are greatly appreciated. SaintRigger
I played a western themed All Things Zombie game and it was brilliant, actually. Loads of fun. I'd have to say that if 5150 is anything like that, you'll enjoy it.
MiniWargamer
The THW stuff is generally pretty good. The customer service is less than adequate. I have placed two orders with him directly and both have required followups to get the rules (and I never got the rules the second time). smokingwreckage
Just so you know, Defiance DOES play fast. You should be able to get a 1000 point battle done in an hour and a half, excluding the inevitable setup and breakdown for most tabletop games- and Defiance abstracts cover so you could play it on a whiteboard with areas marked "trees" if you wanted to. But 5150 may well do smaller games better, or solo play better, I (unfortunately) don't know.
Sergeant_Crunch
I'd go with Defiance, but solo play is a large part of my consideration. It looks like THW's reaction system makes that easier to do as the player has a little less control over the figures.
smokingwreckage
Cool, let me know how that goes. I never even think of solo play!
PurityThruFire
(Finally saw Shaun of the Dead and I'm on a zombie kick now ) Not so much zombie...but have you checked out Spinespur, looks really cool. It's by Comfy Chair Games I believe. Got a real swet 80's slasher vibe to it.
SaintRigger
I got a few of the models, they are really nice. :) I love the pervy clown and pig-headed dude.
Sergeant_Crunch
I've been thinking about getting this guy and this guy for obvious reasons. I'll probably end up getting most of the Hasslefree adventurers though. Getting them all painted is another story...

Although I wish the 2nd guys shoulders weren't so broad, in keeping with the character he's modelling (looks a little more heroic, and not slovenly enough...). That being said, HF does such great minis, its hard not to be a fan... Damon.

Sergeant_Crunch
Of course "Ray" will have to have a red splotch on the bottom of his shirt pocket.
SaintRigger
Have you seen the Hott Fuzz models yet? I love the lot ;)
M. Eversberg II
http://www.hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/pack.php?pack=781 Can you say M41A? M.
SaintRigger
The M41A Pulse Rifle is an air cooled, fully automatic, short- to mid-range combat rifle. Made of light alloy plates, it fires 10x24mm Armor Piercing Caseless Rounds from a 99 round U-bend magazine in either semi automatic, five round burst, or fully automatic rates of fire. The Pulse rifle has a small battery powered digital readout screen that displays number of rounds left in the magazine; the battery is located in the handgrip. With a retractable stock and an underslung 30mm PN grenade launcher, this weapon can be used as a carbine and an assault rifle. ;) I loved it when I first saw it - and it is even cooler that he is selling them on sprues. Now my imperial guard can be PROPERLY outfitted for hunting xenomorphs.
