Brushmaster
Yeah, May 2008, probably same week it was last year, at Reaper HQ, it's totally awesome and if you're not there then you're definitely square!!!! Well , can't afford a ticket to the US every year , so I'll have to be a little square next year . Must say that it goes on the list of things that must be done atleast once in your life time , if you can . I had such a blast there this year and have been rather slack since coming home , very little painting ( torn totoator cuff put paid to that) . Thanks everyone for such a good time and making me feel so welcomed !
fieldarchy
No problem Mate! Wish you could be here next year!
Jame
I shall see Reapercon when I (1.) have enough money to go to Texas and (2.) have gone to see Gen-Con.
fieldarchy
Gen Con is quite the experience but Reaper Con is an entirely different beast in my ipnion. I guess it depends on what you want out of a convention. Reaper is devoted to painting, sculpting and Warlord. That's it. So if you want to focus on any of those activities it is well worth it to come to Reaper Con. And there are several of us that live in the area and don't mind opening our doors to people who can't afford a hotel!
Helltown
I've been to GenCon... it was... interesting. Being that I'm not a large crowds sort of person anymore, my friends could usually find me outside the convention center reading a book rather than fighting the crowds inside to get a look at the next great thing. There aren't crowds at R-con. I'm not a crowd person either. It was generally easy to find a place to sit, kick back, paint, sculpt, chat, watch demos and the like and even shop without having to feel like you were crammed into a sardine can. There was always plenty of room to spread out and a large area devoted to eatting and just kicking back if you wished.
fieldarchy
Yup yup, it is a very comfy convention all things considered. It's more of a large meeting than a convention
Shakandara
Except this time I'm not making cake three nights in a row, I need my beauty sleep for functionality. Don't worry; I covered for you this year, and I'll bring cheesecake again next year too. ~v
fieldarchy
mmmm cheesecake . . . mmmmm . . . damnit Shakalaka!

While I love cooking and baking, I'd rather be painting at the con and not sleeping over a pallet of paint due to being up WAY past my bedtime making cake. A girl's got to prioritize - the metal comes first, sleep second, cakes third.
tabascojunkie
Reaper is devoted to painting, sculpting and Warlord. That's it. Hey. Don't forget CAV. Everybody always forgets us CAV players.
Rastl
How's about: ReaperCon is dedicated to painting, sculpting and RAGE-based games! And Shiner. And decadent deserts. And Sonic. Everyone happy now?
fieldarchy
ew, based on my body's reaction last year I don't think Sonic is part of the attraction. I'm definitely glad I live here now so I can run to get food and have some more variety. Sonic after a few days gets a little . . . well . . . not good on the system for us rabbit food eaters. Spike
Oy you guys forgot all about the roleplaying.. yessirree-Bob Reaper has published one very nice RPG d20 module and there is a second non-published one floating about. I'd be real surprised to not find at least one of either games being GMed at ReaperCon. Oh... and there's the auction..and prizes..and all the nifty goodies in the swag-bags we get every year! So... here's the part where a squeeing geek starts her countdown! ...errrr... what's it now... eight months minus a week or so?
