Lord Wehrmacht
I am liking the hair color there Meg. I am opting for a blonde look myself and I think you did a great job on the face to remove the man stuff lol. Question... it might be my imagination but in the most recent pictures the primer looks a bit grainy? LW
Enchantra
Question... it might be my imagination but in the most recent pictures the primer looks a bit grainy? I don't think it's your imagination as I see it too. Either the primer is grainy or it's just a bad picture. I'm leaning toward a bad picture as I'm sure Meg would have stripped it by now if the primer was grainy. Grainy primer does not make for a good paint job and grainy primer is easy to spot when first laying down basecoats, so knowing Meg's quality in her painting, I'm going to say this is something off with the picture instead. kristof65
I don't know if it's too late to wiegh in, but too many elves are done in greens and browns. The elves that always stand out in my mind are the ones in fall or winter colors. The red hair would go awesome with a fall sceme - yellows, oranges and borwns. fieldarchy
The primer is actually a bit odd. It's not really grainy, I just gave it a really light coat as I was working with a heavier primer before I bought some Tamiya. So, it's speckled on the mini, not grainy. Make any sense? I'm glad you guys are liking her. I thought she looked purdy last night when I was painting the face. On this mini I had to do it to get some inspiration for the rest of her. It took me a while to paint the lips but I wanted to make sure they looked very feminine. Also, the eye has a lid/lash line sculpted so I just followed the line for the top of the eye. That's how I got the shape for it. Fall colors sound like a good combo for this chiky. I've been wanting to paint an elf in fall colors too. I'll have to see what colors I have and what I can mix. I seriously need to get some paint. I think I'm down to less than 40 pots . . . basically my paintier is half full at the moment.
Cerridwyn1st
Sounds like maybe the nozzel on your spray can was a bit clogged, so the primer is sputtery. Comes out more as dots than a mist.
PurityThruFire
Meg, I'm super impressed, you really softened up her face, she looks kinda sexy now
fieldarchy
PTF, it's all about the mad painting skillz! When people complain a sculpt is too manish that is then my mission to create something less manish. And this was the perfect example. Yeah, without paint she looked a little freaky . . . then again when do us women look good without our make up, eh? <I jest!> Anyway, she just needed some make up. I am still going to continue to try to make her look sexy. She should, after all she's a somewhat scantily clad elf lady! She should be sexy. Tomorrow and Wednesday are my painting days. I've already notified my classmates I won't be around . . . hopefully I can get some more work on her done though I need to finish tweaking the brass bull and start on some TMP stuff . . . as I need me some cash too! paintminion
You could do the medium dark blues (corrected) on her as well...The red hair would pop against the darkish blues and look good with silverish or gold/copperish armor. More shading is needed on the face to bring out that cheekbone, and then a little blush, bit of eye shadow and some nice lipstick--She'll look sexy in no time for sure! fieldarchy
Sue, I haven't done any highlighting yet other than on the hair. I just did the basecoat on the face and painted her features on. That's it.
Evilbob
Green without Christmassy=Stormy Sea Triad...its kinda teal... But the face and hair are looking good.
fieldarchy
Ok . . . I'll think about the tealy greens. I'm picking up half the MSP line on Friday . . . I need to tweak the brass bull a bit more but then I'm callin' him done. He was a tough one to do but looks way better in person in either sunlight or dimmed light. Any other combo doesn't seem to suit him too well. I'll probably do a bit more work on her this weekend though I have an Ogre and Fighter beckoning to me for a TMP workbench article! eastman
She'd look good with the muted Teals (Stormy Sea/Clouded Sea) or Reptillian Greens IMO.

That's it. Hey, no worries, no pressure...is it done yet? I fixed my earlier post...I meant to say blues nstead of glues. I don't think she'd like glues on her at all... fieldarchy
LOL! No she's not done yet. I haven't had any time to paint yet this week and it's already Wednesday. I need to do SOMETHING tonight. I'll probably get a lot more done this weekend since it's a nice three day weekend. Also, my half day on friday is spent on painting . . . assuming I get the majority of my homework done tomorrow night.
fieldarchy
Ok here's the update. Yesterday at paint club I did the skin, finished the hair to my liking and started on clothes. Right now I'm just working with a basecoat on the clothes and am debating whether or not to go darker. This is going to be a cool but dark mini. She'll look awesome!
