Cerridwyn1st
If it makes you feel any better, I think Vallejo Model Color does have a color called "Fieldgrau", though it sounds like there is a lot of room for variance in this. It's a cool model with a nice paint job. Is this a game that Reaper is working on producing? Just curious as you did say you got the fig at ReaperCon. tanker22
I think my curiosity opened up a real issue on this german uniform color thing. Was not my intent to take away from MWG's cool zombie mini, sorry about that.
MiniWargamer
Not a problem, have enjoyed the thoughts. I got this at ReaperCon. My understanding is that it was a test miniature to see how well the figure would go over. They are thinking of doing the Reich of the Dead but it's apparently been tabled for a short period. We're looking at the best ways to produce/release/market, etc. We're just not at very public developmental stages yet. What you saw/played at ReaperCon was a very early version - a tease, if you will.
vutpakdi
A bit of explanation for those who weren't at ReaperCon and based on my understanding and memory (which could be totally off). Dave Bennett (from Austin) created a beer and pretzels Nazi Zombies game that was at ReaperCon (and probably first ran at Millenium Con). The scenario played at ReaperCon was that Nazi scientists were working on some sort of secret formula that turned people into zombies (and things got out of control). Advanced units of the Red Army have made it to Berlin, and players represent different individual soldiers trying to search the ruins in/around the Reichstag to find the formula. 20mm minis (from other manufacturers) were used in the game. The zombies were typical dumb zombies and would head towards the nearest living humans (and sound). Pictures are here and include some of the terrific terrain that someone made for Dave. A couple of the more amusing sights over the course of the con were the two times that I saw Sonic car hops (in roller skates) playing the game and having a fun time. Dave's game inspired the Reich of the Dead under development. The back story presented in a one sheet handout is that during the last days of the European Campaign, something has gone terribly wrong within Germany, and waves of refugees are now fleeing Germany. Initial reports seem to indicate that these zombies are organized and intelligent. Ron
Krztoff
So when/if the minis are produced, it's possible that there might be some portraying civilians that were turned into zombies, right? Like guys in suits, or just jeans and t shirts (or whatever the equivalent would have been back then in Germany) that would work in a modern zombie apocalypse campaign! I'M ALL FOR IT!
