Moandain, Lich: 14144

This was a replacement figure for the Spring Exchange that I painted for Krztoff.

Krztoff has a Necropolis army going, so I decided on painting up Moandain. I used fairly stock undead colors and kept the base pretty generic in hopes that the figure can find its way into Krztoff's army. Undead skin is always a bit of an adventure for me - for Moandain I used a number of inks to try and get an uneven tone, then highlighted to white. It came pretty close to the image I had in my head.

I don't get an opportunity to paint undead figures very often - it was a nice change of pace. A big thank you to Erin (CuteButPsycho) for organizing the Spring Exchange. I'm glad I was able to help fill this exchange assignment.

That's a beauty!

Hadn't seen the sculpt before either. It's absolutely excellent. Who's done it?

Edit: Sorry used the picture finder, Julie Guthrie. Wonderful sculpture.

I really like the paintjob to but I'm to lost in the world of painting to somment further than that I'm afraid...

As usual, a great piece of work. I really like the book. The skin is very well done, I guess for a bit of variety you could glaze with a gray-green (maybe lichen moss from RMS). In truth, I like it as is though. As a nitpick, I would suggest a little weathering along the hem, but that is just personal preference.

He's a ghost, Jab, how would he have weathering on his robe? ::):

It's a beautiful piece. I really like the subdued base. It lets the model be the focal point, as it should be. It also means you have a legal model for play.
