Lars Porsenna
One thing that Meier tends to do is more realistically proportioned figures; If the character is described as being large and powerful in the books, this does not necessarily mean that he's a muscle bound Conan stand-in. The fact that Martin approves of the sculpts is all that I think they need for legitimacy... Damon.
Jame
I think I will get these after all, if I have enough money.
eastman
Having seen some of them at GenCon at the DarkSword booth, I'll be getting them even though I haven't read the books.
Vil-hatarn
Their front page has greens of Jaime and Cersei Lannister as well as metal versions of a few of those first greens.
matsumoto
yes, they do update!!!!! now, i wonder how these will be released...if they do standard DSM packages, we'll see 6 to a package, a box that goes for 25+ dollars. with more than 6 model previews up, i wonder who will be sorted with whom? (as i may want @ssloads of the trooper types, and i will need to have all three versiosn of the hound.)

I understand that a large and powerful man doesn't have to look like Conan, but concerning realism, if the armor on the Hound was all removed, he'd be so skinny he'd look like he was anorexic or a late stage AIDS patient. Maybe it has to do with the scale of the miniatures. but it still looks wrong to me. I applaud GRRM for insisting on his personal approval for all things related to Game of Thrones. Kudos to him for insisting on a re-sculpt of Melisandre.
SIGIL
Well if this " hound " is supposed to be physically powerful, I must stay that Tom missed the mark by a bit. Otherwise it is very typical fantastic as Tom has a habit of achieving.

Otherwise it is very typical fantastic as Tom has a habit of achieving. well, Sandor is supposed to be bad dudeness, but if they decide to sculpt Gregor, his brother/nemesis, then Tom had better go conan for him....Gregor is called the mountain that rides for a reason... Tom Meier is good, but i will confess he's a tad bland...then again, most of his sculpts paint well enought that the frosting more than makes up for the standard (yet well made) cake. Madog Barfog
Tom was at Gencon? I wonder if Dark Sword paid for that trip. The last time Thunderbolt Mountain went to a convention (that I know of) was Origins about 4 years ago. Tom said they stopped going because the lost money on conventions. Thunderbolt Mtn was at GenCon in '05 & '06. Tom was the "sculptor guest of honor" for GenCon40. He taught classes, but didn't have a booth. Qwyksilver
Mine arrived in the mail today, I was one of the initial pre-orders - 39 of 99 to be exact. Thank you CBP for letting me know these were available. Thank you work for calling me in for an extra shift the day before so I could justify the expense with the unexpected extra day of pay . They are quite lovely. I was bouncing a bit when they arrived because I was getting Xmas stuff out of storage when the mailman came. My wife told me I had a package and I wasn't really expecting one. I asked from who, and when she said Darksword, I pretty much dropped my boxes and ran in and tore the box open
Decado
I have read the first two books in the series and really enjoyed them. I like the looks of the minis by Darksword and hope to buy them when money allows. Right now I cannot justify buying minis as I have not painted on a regular basis for well over a year now. Ravenwood
I just got the set, & I must say, the sculpting is insane! the detail is incredible, down to the outlines from the plates on the wisby style brigantine that one of the night watch is wearing the hound figure comes with three different heads, one with the helmet visor open, one with it closed, & one with a coif pushed back, showing his horribly burn-scarred face. In all, well worth the price (the minis are also not cast to the bases, making converting the bases even easier...)
