tanker22
By now I'm sure you have noticed a pattern to my painting preferences. Don't really care for the 28mm as much anymore since I started doing larger minis. Was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a painting exchange sometime in the future for anything 54mm or above. Guess this would include Reaper, Mascot, Seil or any of the Pegaso lines. There are alot of other kits as well, mostly resin stuff from 1/18 scale and up. They don't need to be the freaky nekkid chicks either. There are alot of other cool ones out there in the historical lines as well, nekkid girls are just my preference though. I've worked on mostly 54mm, 72,75, 80 and 90mm stuff. Was thinking of some other larger ones as well but I don't have a air brush which would be the prefered method for 1/12 scale and larger. Don't think I want to try anything larger than that with a brush. Just a word of warning if your not familier with some of the bigger stuff, prices can range from $25 to $80 for the 54-90mm scale on average, Reaper being the cheapest I've seen. You can get up into $100-200 range eaisy with 200mm stuff. Alittle rich for my blood at this time, maybe some day. Pegaso fantasy line has some really cool bigger resin kits. Let me know if this sort of thing may interest you in the near future, say 2-6 month time frame.
kalapurusha
That sounds fun, I have a few vintage grenadier large scale, an Amazon even I think, one of those would be fun to put up on the trading platform. Ernst

John Lee
I've painted a few larger models and would bei interested in an exchange. Sounds great. John Lee
Fruggs
Ok so i looked at the some models and found some that I like. I havent ever painted anything this scale so It could be an interesting adventure... Im up for it.
Vil-hatarn
I might be interested; also haven't ever painted anything at that scale, but I've wanted to.
Heisler
I would be interested, but I think you need to cap the size. I don't want to paint an 80mm Pegaso piece and get back a 54mm, other than that it sounds like fun. The Reaper Masterclass is a good introduction to 54mm at a reasonable price, but there are truly some beautiful pieces out there. I love painting historicals! Well and Pegaso girls
tanker22
I was thinking something along the lines of a direct scale and manufacturer swap. due to the size and price differences of these things. Like a 54mm reaper for a 54mm reaper as an example. Once you start digging around looking through different types you'll see what I mean. The pegaso tend to be around the high end for prices, but the detail is awsome on them! I was really impressed with that Seil viking I did awhile back. Very nice detail with the sculpting and it was about $35 if I remember correctly. Think these are about the best bang for your buck. I didn't know what kind of a response I would get with his since the larger minis didn't seem to be as common on here. Looks looks like we might need to set up some sort of exchange thread like the summer and spring ones eairlier. I guess I can coordinate it if no one minds, unless someone else has more experince with setting something up like this and wants to? I like painting but sorry, cant do an exchange with everyone. By the time I was done I would have carples tunnel and my credit cards would be maxed out If you want just drop me a line then with all the other details like the other exchanges. Think we should include a classification with it ie fantasy, historical, freaky nekkid chicks, ect. size and price range as well. Guess we should set a dead line for a closing date as well on this, say 1 Dec? Or should we waint until after christmas? I'm open for whatever. Thanks, Chris
PurityThruFire
I think a good way to tackle this because of the variation in sizes and prices would be for each of you personally to purchase the large scale mini you want painted, perhaps with a cap at 90mm, I doubt 200mm is very realistic for an exchange. If you put out the money for a 200mm resin kit, I figure it's because you want to paint it yourself Then drop a line to Tanker22 and he could compile all the people and the details of what they have to be painted on this thread. Then people could pick who they want to do the exchange with on a first come, first served basis. I would also say have the closing date for mini choices by December, painting dealines could be set later. Just my $0.02 on the exchange, I will leave it up to Tanker22. sethohman
Also, Iron Wind Metals has a line called SpellCaster - there are a few good 54mm models there, and they are very in-expensive. Only a few sculpts, but if you need a 54mm Familiar, great place to go. I think all of them are 1 piece sculpts. I would be interested in a 54mm exchange, but I warn you - I will buy a $10 SpellCaster as my project. Mike
tanker22
I think a good way to tackle this because of the variation in sizes and prices would be for each of you personally to purchase the large scale mini you want painted, This is one way to go on it, but it takes the surprise away though. If you want to do it like this include that in your info when you PM me. I'm open for what ever everyone is comfortable doing. I would be interested in a 54mm exchange, but I warn you - I will buy a $10 SpellCaster as my project. As long as your cool with getting a $10 doller one back, I wouldn't expect a high end priced one if I was you. Not quite fare to the other person. Think the first come, first served thing works. I have one persons info already, When I get peoples exchange qualifications I'll match then up. I can check back with you to make sure this is a satisfactory choice due to the price on some of these. Thanks
Versutus Vulpes
Sounds interesting - and I have some larger minis lying around... And I want to do Monique again... Hmmm.... Put me on the interested list.
tanker22
Thought I would start a posted list of people signed up so far, Tanker Fruggs Helltown rgtriplec John Lee Sign up dead line is 1 Dec so there is plenty of time to figure out what you want to do if you so chose to participate. Think 1 Feb should work for a target mini completion date. Also if anyone wants some links to different sites that carry larger minis I put a few up. I have used accouple of these if you want any feed back. I'll Let you know right now that most of these have nudity mixed in at some point on them. Pegaso models Seil models Fantastic figures Mascot- Warning-graphic nudity and adult situations! War web

Most models that are bigger than 25-30mm are more than that. Just do a regular exchange.
Fruggs
Also Andrea Miniatures has some nice fantasy as well as other genres that are larger scale. http://www.andrea-miniatures.com/market/As...p?IdCategoria=
