strateegos
Well, in my experience, one item I ordered was out of stock, so they held everything else to wait for it, unfortunately, that item was also discontinued so it became a deer in the headlights type thing. It took a few phone calls to get it straight. Otherwise, their shop is jam packed with stuff. They do only carry 1 of each figure they offer, so if it is out of stock then your stuck. Not real good at letting you know about it. Red Lancers has always been 1 - 2 weeks. Normally only 1 week.
eastman
I've ordered from both Red Lancers and Michigan Toy Soldiers several times each. The prices are pretty similar between the two. The thing with MichToy is you have to sign up for their preferred buyer club (or whatever they call it). It doesn't cost anything, but it gets you a 10-30% discount on the different product lines. Unless Colorado miniatures has changed, they offer only a limited selection of products from the ranges they carry - as an example, when I was looking for some Pegaso figures a while back, they didn't carry any of the Pegaso girl kits, so my order went to MichToy for my Angie. tanker22
Thanks for the info eastman, I went back and signed up for thier preferred customer club, if they hold true to it its not a bad deal. They match any US competitors price plus an additional 5% off cost in addition to other benifits on sale items, ect. Emailed them to see if I can get it to take effect on this current order. Figured it couldnt hurt to try. From what little I dug around on Colorado minis site thier selection wasnt to bad, maybe they have extended thier lines they carry since you checked them out last

Well they have 463 Pegaso kits now. All the liene I looked at were pretty complete. Maybe they expanded their store.
tanker22
Update: Got ahold of the people at Mich.toy soldier they are going to match the price with Colorado miniatures. Thought that was pretty cool since I made the order about two weeks ago. They seemed like pretty nice people as well, better than the last distributer I used. On their site, they still state that they don't carry nude or semi-nude figures or sci-fi figures as a rule (they make case by case exceptions), and the entire Pegaso 80mm line is missing from their Pegaso section. So I'll stick to Mich Toy and Red Lancers, since they'll sell me all of what I want to buy (not just some of it).

I personally don't buy nude minis, although I might the Pergaso model Black Dog(?) someday... because its funny. So, I'll stay with Colorado and save the 20%. Really, if that's the case then I'll go to MichToy. I believe you have to sign up as a preferred customer first (which costs nothing, just means you get the email newsletter on new releases). from their site: We Match any price advertised by our competitors in the USA. Send us the URL or print copy of any product listing from one of our competitors in the USA (only) and we will match that price plus offer an additional 5% discount. Items must be in stock here and at the competitor. Excludes sale items and items advertised on eBay and any auction site. Matched prices negate preferred customer discounts. http://www.michtoy.com/MTSCnewSite/index_i.../emaillist.html

tanker22
What are you having trouble with rg?
rgtriplec
What are you having trouble with rg? They are cut in a way that leaves no way to put them togeather except the exact angle and positioning they were cut from. That is fine except the legs and arms, both hands and head and four other bits and the stand all work in conjuction. So if the left arm is slightly off from how they intended, it affects the other arm and hands. The same goes for the legs, if one is a 1/2 mm off then the whole mini is cockeyed and won't fit the stand. Also there are a lot of very thin bits and stuff and the metal is softer than a Confrontation mini and warps and breaks very easily. I literally had two bits that were smaller than the metal writing stem of a ball point pen i.e. the 1-2 mm long and 1/2 mm wide and no thicker than a couple sheets of paper. Also the parts don't fit togeather snuggly like a Reaper mini, most Reapers you put the pieces together and they fit and want to stay together almost like a tongue and groove, these pieces are like trying to glue to flat surfaces that are at different angles. In all the years I've built minis I've never needed to pin, this mini was one that I thought... damn I wish I had a pin vice and a super duper tiny bit. I've built minis from probably six companies over the years and literally hundreds, maybe even a thousand minis and these two (same model) were by far and away the hardest thing I've ever run across. I'm going to go get some green stufff to attatch the hands of mine and the fill the numerous cracks of both. I'd have to say looks wise and detail these things are a 10 out of 10, but on a 10 point building scale if a Reaper is a difficulty 3 these are at least 12!! tanker22
See what you mean, I've had a few of these kinds in the past and are areal pain. What I've had to do is paint in pieces, even if just a rough base coat of paint then dull coat them and put them together like that. After there together I'll go back and do the touch up and detailing. It is like working in step progression. As for the gaps unfortunatly you run into that quite a bit to some extent with the larger minis it seems. Hate to admit but I use tub and tile grout repair to fill gaps. Its water soluable before it dries and you can get it real smooth into the cracks and use a wet brush to buff smooth and clean up later. I think alot of the foriegn minis have a higher lead content is why they are so soft, maybe? Why dont you PM me a pic so I can see what you working on, maybe I can give some more specific advise since I never pin any of my work. strateegos
Wow, I always use pins. Have seen too many pop apart at shows and conventions. I feel much safer traveling with my figures as well. I assemble and paint as much as I can, and then paint the rest while on their pins, stick some epoxy in the mounting hole and stick the parts in. It's worked well for me so far and it gives me a sense of securtiy. Depending on the age of the figure and the manufacturer, fit problems do occur. Verlindon is tops in my book for fit but are kinda static in pose. Pegaso is great in both areas, while Andrea I have found to have many fit problems. They try to market it as part of the "hobby" but I get PO'D when I spend upwards of $100 and then have to do a lot extra work to just get the original pose together. Oh well Steve
