Take as long as you need I'm in no rush. I am just in a painting mood and had time to paint yours early. I hope you like it. You are supposed to get it today.

She did indeed arrive yesterday, and per usual conditions when a parcel for me arrives when I'm not there... the minion opened it and got to oogle it before I even knew it was here. Alas, on the open box was the note: "I didn't do it! It showed up like this." She broke.

Having been futzing with my own Andrea mini selections (instead of getting just one, I ordered 4 different minis) and having the hilt of one's sword snap on my The Untamed, I'm not entirely surprised. I'll be fixing her today or tomorrow once I locate a suitable bit to repair the spear without messing up the beautiful paint job. If you have pictures, please feel free to post them as I'm unsure how long it'll take to make repairs.

Sorry to hear yours broke on you HT, hopefully you can get it repaired ok and restore it to its origonal condition.

As of late I've sold acouple of my larger ones on ebay and have had surccess with them arriveing in one piece.

A word of advice if it helps anyone, I double boxed all mine and had then surrounded with foam, bubblewrap and some of that poppcorn packing. I also had the boxes marked fragile, do not crush. The outer box was probably a 12 by 10 by 10 size box, fairly large but shipping wasnt to bad, $8 or so since it goes off weight.

Hope that helps anyone with future shipping issues.

Sorry it broke.

I thought after I sent it, that the way to ship minis is in a foam army tray. Next time I'll know. I've never shipped one that large or with a banner.

All in all Andrea's Joan of Arc as a sculpt is a ten, but prepaint prep, building, how well it fit together, quality of metal... I'd say a 4 would be generous.

Have a match for strateegos at last, so it looks like this is probably about it. Let me know if anyone has anymore questions or concerns with the exchange, and thanks for playing!

Ok, Im off to the races. I ordered my figure for Kalapurusha, Reapers Cowgirl. I am going to try and do a shaggy hair texture on the chaps. I need the practice anyway.

Have any of you used the Reaper Master paints? If so how do they compare with Vallejo?

Thanks

Steve

You'll probably get more answers to your question if you put it in the Painting forum. Or you could do a search since questions like this come up frequently.

The short answer is Reaper Master Series paints compare very well to Vallejo Model and Game Color. Many people prefer them to Vallejo. They're generally easier to shake up. They thin well, with or without additives. They are less prone to rub-off than Vallejo. Some say they're not as good for dry-brushing. I seldom dry-brush, so I don't have an opinion on that.

Personally, I like them a lot. If you don't buy direct from Reaper, watch out for the older ones that sometimes had problems with graininess. Reaper will replace bad paints for you, but it can still be annoying.

As far as the paints go steve I've never tried Vallejo but I do have some RMS stuff. They go on very smooth and I like the, not sure this is the right term, pigment count? They are not watery or translucent. Only problem I have with them is they seem to dry up alot quicker for me then normal hobby paints, start doing it in a matter of minutes it seems with out some kind of extender. Do seem rather expensive for the amount you get as well IMO, but they are worth it.

Fruggs- Well, thats good to hear you dont even have it in yet. I felt bad I've been dragging my feet on yours because I havnt felt good lately and havnt been much in a mood to paint anything. I'm about half done with yours right now, should have it finished in acouple weeks I would think. One of the downsides to waiting for the oils to dry as well.

Well after getting off of school a couple of weeks ago I could finally sit down and finish the miniature for John Lee. It is the longest I have ever spent on a miniature, I am happy with the way it turned out except for the face. I redid it three times and was never happy with the final result, But I am calling it done before I ruin the rest of the paint job. I will try and get some Pictures up in the next couple of days.
